"What is it you have in mind?" the first asked, stepping in closer with a soft smile. "We would very much like to be able to help you relax here," said the second, mirroring the gestures of the first.

Lena smiled, glancing between the two. "Are you two twins by any chance? As for my comfort..." she tried to be coy as she spoke, smiling in a teasing manner. Or at least she tried to. Kai usually appreciated that smile? "I am still new here, and while I know some people, I don't know a whole lot of people. Could you perhaps give some pointers who is who? Especially any other newcomers like me, who arrived in the last few days?"

"We're not twins," said the first, "but we really should have been," finished the second. Both girls exchanged places with one another. Sliding past one another in a little play, a distraction for the eyes. "We could give you some tips," said the one on her right, "tricks, and that sorta thing," continued the one on the left. "But there really isn't any one else you should really be concerned with," said the left. "You've already met Madame Vida, of course," said the right. "Then there's the boss, Rullarc Mulgin. You know who he is, right?" said the left.

"Oh? Could've fooled me..." She eyed the movement, and stepped in between the two, slowly walking, separating the pair a bit. "Ah... not as much as I should." She smiled awkwardly. "I usually just fly the ship."

Kor nodded "Well a drink is probably first on the list, the pool will likely wait until later though it is interesting." He looked the mirilan in the eye for a moment, his hard and cold grey like slate "and what do they call you?"

Yara Suhr wrote:"Oh." A rapid mental recalculation ensues. "That sounds like a pleasure, Mr. Mulgin," Yara says in what she hopes comes out as an amiably neutral sort of tone. "Though I would"n't presume to monopolize the host for the whole evening."

"Only so long as I want to be occupied, of course," he said with a devilish grin. Looking to the man that approached, the guard that Yara had given the bribe to and Rullarc opened a palm. Without a word the man offered the credits into Rullarc's waiting hand which he then turned and, with a quick beckon for her to open her hand, placed them back into Yara's waiting grasp. "Consider it the gift of the house tonight, Dr. Suhr."

"If you insist," Yara says, auburn eyebrows twitching upward. "How kind of you." Pocketing the chits again, she tries to conceal some embarrassment about her small act of bribery being so obviously noticed--generally, in her experience, a sign that one hadn't done a very good job of it.

"Your party has certainly attracted quite a diverse crowd, Mr. Mulgin. Though I'm sure there are others who might have chosen to come if the location were a little less um." She abandons that thought without finishing it. Just think of it like an administration cocktail party. Pretend he's a Vice-Chancellor or something. "People seem to be enjoying themselves."

"People are enjoying themselves," he affirmed with confidence. Rullarc's voice was a bit nasally but had an undeniable inner charm to the way it sounded. Turning so he might offer his arm to the lady and escort her more fully among the partygoers. "It is a wonder, why people choose not to come. I find, personally, that it is because they do not understand the way things are here. That is part of my hope tonight. That, however, relies in the perception of my guests. So I would like to ask you a question Dr. Suhr. What is it you think of this place, the establishment we find ourselves in and Providencetown the town like no other?"

There is nothing that happens here that he does not hear of. He's a very... powerful man. Many friends. Lots of friends. He's the one hosting this party tonight, the one you can thank for having all of this... for free," she said. Then, they both spoke in unison, "We want to know, what brings you here?"

"Providencetown... it's the most architecturally compelling town I've ever seen, without question." Yara lets her hand settle lightly on Mulgin's arm. "In other respects, not so different from other towns. The residential stratification, for example--like a little Coruscant in miniature, or thousands of other places on thousands of worlds where the wealthy live high above and the rest struggle to get by."

Her lips quirk wryly, small lines framing the corners of her mouth for a few moments. "And this establishment? In its usual line, not my choice of recreation." Nor anybody's who has a professional knowledge of infectious-disease containment protocols, she thinks, but decides not to say. "I can't deny the appeal of a good party, though."

"I will change your mind, Dr. Suhr," he said, leading her into the room with confidence. Those of the staff gently guiding their conversation partners to make room for his passing without outright declaring his presence among them. "Providencetown, under my care, has grown from a pile of rubble and debris into a settlement rivaling that of the planets current government. Rapidly rising as we are it is only natural that others sought to flock to us. Those are the poor masses you see on your way into this city, every time. However, because they are not often seen up here do not think that I have forgotten them. My attention may be on a great many things but you can see, through those connected with me, I have not forgotten the most redeemable of the lot that surrounds themselves at my ankles, the children. You have your method of saving lives, and I have mine," he said as he collected a glass for Dr. Suhr, offering it to her from the plate carrying them that had produced itself. A small droid carrying the plate that seemed to blend in within the crowd.

"As for your views of this establishment..." he continued, fingers curled around the glass. "This place offers to those who cannot or do not normally attain it something that is inherent to the needs of an individual. Something that no one, despite their fallacious beliefs, can live without."

"Rullarc Mulgin?" she seemed to confirm when she placed a hand upon Syzygy's side, directing her to shift her position only slightly. Where, behind her, Rullarc and Yara crossed behind them and off into the party itself. "Some many years back the man came to find Providencetown, a ruin of rubble and debris from some battle back in the clone wars they say. From that he created Providencetown. A haven for those who might be cast out from other places in Noventa, the galaxy. Was there anything more you wished to learn about him, doll?"

"You're an inquisitive one, aren't you, darling?" she said with a soft smile. Laying a hand out so the Syzygy might accept her invitation. "Rullarc is a man who appreciates what benefits come of celebration now and again, I am certain. Of course, what brought him to celebrate tonight is only something that he himself could answer. Most are happy that he is offering the party, the chance to forget themselves. I wonder why it is you wonder so?"

Kor followed the woman into the party proper honestly only half listening to Aubade talk about music or mornings or something along those lines.

"Its not such a bad name, has a certain ring to it." His eyes scanned the party again now that he was closer looking for anyone of note, surely at a party for movers and shakers there would be a few big names. He looked back to the mirilan as she asked a question "been planetside for about 4 months. Just stopped by thought it seemed nice enough to settle down for a bit."
