Fight The Power (D8, LM-EA)

[Cefey Raneth]

"Wow." Fey knew how to make a lot of things, but a laser-sword was not one of tem.

"How'd you do it? Like... contain the laser? The power?"

[Quinn Largo]

She raised a brow.

"Bit of a trade secret, you know. Only those attuned to the Force will be able to do it properly; others won't be able to get the crystal to be attuned properly."

[Cefey Raneth]

"Aw, and here I was hoping to learn a little about it," she chuckled warmly and took another sip of soda as they reached the Phoenix's hangar. Which meant a bit more privacy unless the other the crew-members were milling about.

"Guess it's too much to ask for?"

[Quinn Largo]

"The lightsaber usually comes after training. They're hard to make and easy to hurt yourself with if you don't know what you're doing. If you're really keen on it though, I do have a training stick I'm not using anymore."

[Cefey Raneth]

"Hm," Fey brushed a hand over her lekku, "I don't really have any training. To be honest, I hadn't given any thought to the idea of being capable of using the Force at all until recently. I just thought it was something weird about me."

She also knew she wasn't any good at swinging weapons around. Kai would probably just laugh at her too.

[Quinn Largo]

"The Force touches everyone. Some just more so than others. In the old republic, we'd probably both have been taken on as padawans when we were little. Now, a lot of people just go ignorant of what they might become."

[Cefey Raneth]

Fey shrugged. "You sure about that? The Republic of old seemed content to let my people be slaves."

She took another sip of fruity soda. "Padawan? Is that some fancy name for trainee or something?"

[Quinn Largo]

She frowned. "I'm sure there were probably twi'lek Jedi. It was the empire that only cared about humans."

[Cefey Raneth]

"Maybe. Not all twi'lek are from Ryloth like I was." Was being the key word here, as she felt no binds to her homeworld.

"So a Jedi trained you? And you were a... padawan?"

[Quinn Largo]

"That's the term for students. It wasn't for very long though, so I'm not entirely sure if I'd still count as one."

[Cefey Raneth]

"Still, you know how all this stuff works, and got one of their weapons." That was more than anyone else on this planet most likely.

It was odd, Quinn was only a couple of years younger than her, but she had a hard time figuring out what questions to ask. "So you're gonna deal with that Inquisitor, and whatever it is that woke up here?"

[Quinn Largo]

"I wouldn't say I know how it all works. More than most, maybe. But yeah, I guess we kind of *have* to deal with the inquisitor and all the rest."

[Cefey Raneth]

"More than me," the twi'lek shrugged, "I don't have a fancy weapon like that, and my understanding of the Force is... hmm... limited. I know somethings, I've learned, but nothing big."

Not that she really had any idea of what people could do with the Force. Temra said he could feel other people's presence and emotions.

"We? You mean, there are others too?"

[Quinn Largo]

"Well, not any Jedi that I know of. But there's people who will stand for this planet and its people."

[Cefey Raneth]

She chuckled. "And for a moment there, you had me thinking you'd rounded up all the others like you and me into some sort of Force sensitive misfit-band to restore the Jedi or something."

"But yes, there are good people on this planet that will probably do what they can to stop this. People like that Inquisitor is dangerous for us to have around." A part of her was greatly concerned about why it had let Jelna go so easily.

[Quinn Largo]

"I'm not a master, I couldn't do that. Maybe that Skywalker fellow's the one to go to for that."

[Cefey Raneth]

"That the guy who killed the Emperor, right?" she'd heard the name, but she wasn't sure how much of the stories were true. "... Do you think he's someone who could be approached? About all this Force and Jedi stuff?"

[Quinn Largo]

"Probably. Wouldn't know how to go about it, though."

[Cefey Raneth]

Fey sighed. "Me neither." How did you approach some guy like that, not to mention finding out where he could be.

"... Maybe I'll have a look at that training-stick of yours another time? Never really got the hang of a vibroblade though, but maybe these are different." She didn't have the muscles for powerful blows or anything like that, but if it was a laser-thing, it would be different. It had seemed different when she saw Quinn use her lightsaber in the fight - nothing at all like Kai when he used his vibroblade.

[Quinn Largo]

The training stick was in fact still attached to her belt. And looked nothing like a stick at all. Quinn put her juice away, and then unclipped the stick, and it was just a little non-descript piece of metal... but then she flicked her wrist and it extended into a metal rod.

"It's balanced the same way a lightsaber is. Lighter, and a bit different than a vibroblade."
