"I can imagine." Yara's brows draw together in an expression of concern. "By the spacing of those claws, you were lucky to be able to walk away." She hooks a small rolling chair out of the corner of the room with her booted toe and takes a seat next to the exam table. "I'll get these cleaned up for you, then. Infection is always a concern with animal bites and scratches, so I'm going to take your vitals first. Hold out your arm, please." Pulling open a drawer, she grabs a medical scanner and holds it up for Quinn to see. "Do you know what kind of animal it was that hurt you?"

[Quinn Largo]

"A... leopard," she held out her arm, "I think. Four of them. Thankfully, someone was there to help me."

[Yara Suhr]

"I have some friends who would probably say the Force was with you," Yara says, shaking her head, as she applies the scanner to Quinn's arm. After a few seconds, it beeps, and she inspects the readouts. "No fever. Unless that's deeper than it looks to me right now, I'll just apply a topical anti-microbial, then. But in a day or two, if you get more swelling at the site or an elevated temperature, do come back for something stronger." She sets the scanner aside. "All right, Quinn, I'm going to clean the wounds now. You can stay sitting right there or lie back, whichever is more comfortable for you."

Hmm... Triumph, but Quinn only has one crit, right? What shall we do with it? Wonder if we can convert it into an upgrade for one of us later or something.

[Quinn Largo]

"Thank you," she remained in a seated position as the doctor worked. "Do you know any Jedi, doctor? You mentioned the force, right?"

[Yara Suhr]

"Any... Jedi?" the doctor murmurs, head still bent over her work as she swabs out Quinn's injuries. It might sting... a bit. "I thought the real Jedi were all gone. I'm not really sure. I did meet Skywalker, a few times. That might be as close as anybody can come any longer."

[Quinn Largo]

"Oh. Well, that's what I heard too. I heard about skywalker too. You actually met him? That's amazing."

[Yara Suhr]

"I'm not at all sure he'd remember me specifically, but those flyboys were always in and out of medical bay." Quinn would see the doctor's bowed head shake a little at that. "I suppose you have to be stupidly brave to fly the way they do, but... wandering into a forest and being attacked by a pack of felines would be right in character for them, as I think about it." There's a faint air of long-suffering in her voice, the kind common to medical practitioners whose patients just refuse to keep from getting chopped up, shot, and chewed on. "Everyone knew Skywalker was interested in the Jedi, and then... well."

[Quinn Largo]

"So you were with the resistance then?"

[Yara Suhr]

"Yep." Finished with the cleaning, Yara begins applying suture gel to the scratches. "For about, oh, three or four standard years. I'm not a soldier, though, really, so when the peace was signed I mustered out." Her lips quirk wryly as she glances upward to check how the patient is holding up while her injuries are poked and prodded at. "I'm hoping it holds, so I can stay that way."

"Hmm-mmm," she wasn't sure about peace. Not knowing what she knew and feeling what she felt. But there was no point in burdening the doctor with that kind of worry.

"I don't really know much about politics. I always stayed away from that stuff. The fighting and such. I think it's good the Empire's gone, though."

[Yara Suhr]

"Always?" Yara chuckles, smoothing on a patch of synthskin. "You're barely old enough for 'always,' Ms. Quinn." More soberly, she adds, "I can't recommend staying out of politics, really. Too often when you think you're keeping neutral, you'll find out too late you've already been complicit. Might as well choose your side deliberately."

[Quinn Largo]

"Sounds complicated."

[Yara Suhr]

"Well, that's life, I'm afraid."

[Quinn Largo]

"I guess so," she said, trying out a bit of stretching when the moment presented itself... to see if things were feeling any better. "What do you do if you don't know what the sides even are, though?"

[Yara Suhr]

"Hmm." Yara pats the edges of the last synthskin patch, making sure they're firmly adhered. "Listen to your ethical sense, is the most I can suggest. Don't confuse it for self-interest. That's advice from experience." She sighs as she pushes her chair back from the examining table. "I know... harder than it sounds. If things are less clear-cut for your generation than mine, that's a good thing, really. It would mean we've taken the really awful options off the table."

[Quinn Largo]

"Lot of people in the core thought the empire was pretty good though. They didn't see the bad sides the way people have on the rim."

[Yara Suhr]

"It was there for anyone who looked closely enough." The set of the doctor's face tightens as she reaches over to retrieve her datapad from the counter and begin updating Quinn's chart. "It was very easy not to look, for Humans at least, but not hard to see once you had to look. In my experience, in any event." The brittle consonants of her Core accent are particularly clear just now.

"I guess," she hopped off her chair. "Where are you from, doc?"

[Yara Suhr]

"Grange, originally," Yara says, naming a backwater agricultural planet in the Mid-Rim. "I went to university on Hosnian Prime and had my residency and postdoc on Coruscant, though." Still tapping at the datapad screen, she adds, "Yours isn't a local accent either, I notice."

[Quinn Largo]

"I'm from Esseles," she said.

That was one of the original founders of the old republic, the capital world of the Esseles Empire before it collapsed after the clone wars, and known for its stunning architecture.

"But I haven't been back there in a while."
