Noventa - A Star Wars Story

"Oh there's plenty of interest back home of course. The populations of the core worlds are quite thirsty for historical curiosities and the like, but one doesn't really find it out in the wild anymore except here on the rim. It helps making connections with local groups with an interest in the field."

"It's a bit rustic." Zygy nodded. "I'm still learning about the people here. How did you become involved with the historical society?"

"It's not what I'm used to, but the outer rim has its charms, one supposes."

Quinn was laying on her home-accent a little thicker than she usually did these days.

"How do you like it?"

"Oh not long at all. I'm sure you can tell my accent isn't exactly local. I can't have been more than four months? Something in that vincinity."

"More or less." she nodded. "How long have you been on Noventa?"

"Is that... what the name means? Well, it's cool either way."

"It's actually Syzygy." she explained. "Mom and dad felt I brought their opposing natures into alignment."

"Thank you, you can call me Quinn. Zygy is a pretty unusual name isn't it?"

"Sounds good." she nodded. "You can call me Zygy, by the way."

"Well, there's a good restaurant up near the promenade," she said... deciding that restaurant food was probably better; and more expensive; than anything else. If she was going to get a free lunch, might as well make it expensive.

She shrugged. "Whatever I find. I've done a fair amount of traveling and learned not to be too picky. I do prefer something freshly prepared, but that's a minor concern. Street vendors, cantinas, full restaurants, it's all good."

"What do you normally have for lunch?"

"Oh well, I'll see if the pod racers know." she shrugged. "Any recomendations for lunch?"

Quinn followed. At the very least she'd be getting free lunch.

"Oh, I don't rightly know I'm afraid."

It was always best to be vague; fewer chances of getting caught in the lie.

"My treat." She nodded and led the way. "How many ships do these reenactors have?"

"Uhm... okay. That would be swell."

"I'd appreciate it." she smiled. "Would you like to join me for lunch? That's where I was headed."

"I'm afraid my bosses have all of that information. I could inquire if you want, of course."

She frowned in disappointment. She would have a better chance of flying it, if they were doing the restoration.

"I can understand that. We'd be upsetl, if someone were to break a contract with us." She sighed. "Maybe we could sub-contract with the firm. Could you give me their name?"
