[D9-LN] The Big Score Pt. Tres (Cherr's) [Event]

Postby Flession » Thu Nov 08, 2018 11:55 am

The events of the afternoon have come and gone, with whatever happens during it occurring as it does. The night sky over the city was dark, with the rain pouring over you giving you cover. It was wet and miserable outside. Thankfully for you, at least, this part of the job involved being indoors away from it all. You all, including the tall Lepi walk the streets without much fanfare. Most are exhausted from the day's events, and for good reason too. It was a long hard fought battle on many fronts.

Yet this needed to be done. To strike while the iron was hot, as the saying goes. This iron, however, would never be as hot as it is again.

((Post to confirm involvement))

Kai was there, and fully awake. But then tears in the military had taught him to get sleep when he could, as well as the importance of Kaf.

This is often work hours for Kaneea, so he's there, a beret on his head at a jaunty angle.

Clementine is, as ever, indefatigable. Needing only a few hours at a charging port or fusion lamp helps.

((Let's be optimistic and move forward, then))

You arrival to the shop and before you the door itself. Whatever lies ahead beyond it is a mystery. Besides weapons and the entrance to the vaults, of course.

"Well then...no better time like the present. Thief, you're up." The Lepi nods his head at Fey to make her move.

--
Make a stealth check of Average Difficulty. After which, make a Skulduggery check of Average or a Computers Check of Hard Difficulty to break into the door. Either check will flip a Destiny to upgrade the difficulty. You can bring someone to assist, but they must make their own separate stealth check, which can also be assisted.

Nodding, the twi'lek moved alone. It was easier to sneak one person, after all.

It didn't take long before the door was opened.

Hokey religions and ancient rituals could get bent - this was something she could make sense of.

You unlock the weapon store easily enough and make your way indoors. So far, any external alarms have been disabled from what you can tell due to your success in appearing to be a authorized user.

Inside is a fairly nice display of guns and other accessories in their respective cases. Also a few sitting areas. If you wanted to purchase a blaster and come for a relaxing afternoon, this would be the place.

--
Optional: Loot Crates

You may choose to skip this next part and move on, and will be considered out of the room for the following scenario. Please mention in a post if you will be participating in this.

Pick one weapon or weapon accessory that is legal up to Rarity 8. You happen to find this item in a display case. Getting it out is going to be harder. Roll a Skulduggery check to unlock the case and take the item of your choice. Each block or difficulty will increase the security around it. Rating 1-2 will be a easy check, 3-4 Average, 5-6 Hard, 7-8 Daunting. Check will be upgraded once due to security measures and one setback dice due to low lighting. All rolls will have a Destiny flipped to upgrade the check as well. On a success, you obtain the item in question. Failure means you are unable to obtain the item in question and must move on. A despair will cause the store's security measures to activates, making a turret come from the room and shooting at everyone remaining in the room for 8 damage (soak applies.) Security will also be heightened for the remainder of the heist.

Threats and advantages will be used to stack up the difficulty of the next person's attempt at stealing a item at a 2:1 ratio. Anyone can assist with a roll, but they will forfeit their attempt to steal a item and are considered to be in the room for the Despair condition should it trigger. You will also need to have the right tools for the job (lockpicks in this instance), otherwise there will be 2 setbacks on the attempt.

Passing by a crate, some of the words on it caught Fey's interest; Dolmax 243X "Penetrator Augmented Spin Barrel. She had read enough magazines about weapon enthusiasts talking about that model and how it was so superior to other barrel-augmentations.

So she tapped Kai on the shoulder to see it to, and to get him to give her a hand as lockpicking this kind of security was tricky. But the lock seemed a bit too solid for her...

Doing Loot Crate-Optional

D9 Heist Lootin' da loot-crates for phat l00tz. Rarity 4 (Augmented Spin Barrel) = Average. Destiny upgrade. Boost from Kai: 2eP+1eA+1eB+1eC+1eD+1eS 0 successes, 1 advantage

D9 Heist Lootin' da loot-crates for phat l00tz. 1 Boost from previous roll: 1eB 0 successes, 1 advantage

0 Success, 2 Advantages = 1 Boost to next attempt to loot.

Kai wouldn't leave Cefey in this room all by her lonesome, so he paused for a few moments to help her in the attempt. It didnt prove fruitful, but that was the way of things on occasion.

Whether or not droids dream has been the matter of some debate, but in the idiomatic sense you could say that Clementine has been dreaming of a big score like this for years. The romance and mythology of the one heist that will make you a legend, make you rich, and let you retire from “the life” has worked its way firmware-deep in to Clementine’s processors. One might think that this, combined with the single-mindedness characteristic of loadlifters, would let him pass through the room of minor temptations easily.

Clementine has picked up a few quirks, though. Maybe more than a few.

“Ohh.... boss.” With a click of the hatch popping open and a whirr of much smaller servomotors than drive the rest of his limbs, a manipulator arm comes out and taps Kaneesa on the shoulder. Clementine has stopped at a case with a pair of circuitry-covered gloves. “These are the good stuff. Cor-ell-ee-an. Enough charge to stun a gurnda... a gundr... a very big thing. I knew a bee-ex who had the circuitry stripped and installed in her hand-actuators. She was a finely tuned machine, yes she was.” Clementine looks at Kaneesa. “Can we boss? Can we?”

[Clementine offers 1 Cunning 1 Skullduggery assist, for probably an upgrade and a boost? Backhand shock gloves are rarity 4, so, I think 1eP+2eA+1eB+1eC+1eD+1eS, unless Cefey offers us another boost]

Kaneesa snorts a small laugh. "Youz know that I can't help myself when you beg like that Clem."

Kaneesa steps up,working his tongue into the lock, trying to wiggle it free.

Syzygy looked around, but saw nothing of particular appeal. Personal weaponry wasn't really her style. Even her holdout pistol was more a precaution, than anything practical. There was some impressive ordinance. But, the pieces that caught her eye were large and heavy. Not the best to try carrying around during a heist.

((You can use those advantages to get back a some strain if you want))
You've managed to successfully get your shock gloves, but it is apparent, after close inspection, that there was a reason why this was the floor model. The wires are a bit loose and just won't turn on. It's going to require a bit of work to get it back up and running again.

With the tall Lepi allowing you the chance to get your 5 (or 4) finger discount, he finally finishes up putting in the proper sequence in the SQL Data stream (which honestly felt like days for him to break) and the vault door opens. It's a darken hallway leading inward to the ships hull, as the lights are specifically shut down to avoid bringing unwanted attention. The Lepi moves forward and motions to you all to join him as you as your entrance slowly raises up on you once more, sealing off the last bit of light from the outside.

The door shuts quietly and there you all are, left in the darkness with only a faint glow of the Lepi's helmet as a means for a guide to the next trial.

--
PCs will now take 2 setbacks due to their vision rolls until otherwise noted. This can be removed thru the usual items or natural abilities. However, if any PC uses a item that can completely ignore these 2 setback by providing a physical light, the security risk will be moved to suspicious, causing one automatic dice upgrade for all rolls in this event until the light source is removed.))

Seeing as she had borrowed Babe's scanner goggles, Fey adjusted the straps of the goggles a little bit before the goggles settled over her eyes and made the darkness seem less dark. I'll have to get myself one of these too later. When we're somewhere with more reasonable prices.

Fey stepped in after the lepi.

As you make it thru the dark hallway, you come across a light shining from another room. The Lepi looks down as his data-pad for a few moments and shakes his head pointing to the light. It was apparently one of the security check-points he had mentioned earlier, which he manages to convey with his hands. With a quick roll across the floor, he manages to quietly go thru the open hallway door and peer in before making a motion for you all to follow.

--
Sneaky Sneaky

This will be a individual stealth check, so no assisting will be allowed. You must pass thru the open doorway undetected from the guard keeping a eye out. The difficulty will be Average (◆◆), as the guard is not paying enough attention at the moment to be bothered by you. The first check will be upgraded once with a Destiny flip. With every 2 failures accumulated, security will be increased, by 1, adding a upgrade to every roll made for the remainder of the heist.

Advantages and failures may be allowed to boost or add setbacks to the next person's roll at a 2:1 ratio.

If security is upgraded more than three times with this action, a Despair is rolled, or if 3 people fail their rolls, the guard is actively aware of your presence. You may try to rush him before he can make his way to call security, making a brawl check to hold him down and knock him out at a hard difficulty. Assisting is possible with this roll. A success means you've managed to knock him out and store his body out of the way. This will reduce the security risk by 2 if you succeed, leaving it at suspicious (adding 2 setbacks to all rolls). This will have ramifications down the line, however.

On a failure, the alarm is triggered and the heist is aborted.
