[Quinn Largo]

[Open, but expecting]


The last few days had been a bit of a rollercoaster for Quinn. Fear. Elation. Frustration. Joy. Things were happening she did not have much control over. One thing she *did* have control over was lunch. At least, assuming Cal didn't come out to yell at her for grabbing ingredients from the bar's stock. Which was totally what she was doing, taking advantage of things being slow in order to prepare herself a sizeable lunch. Bigger than she could consume by herself, honestly.

[Runi Vizsla]

Then the feeling of the menu flopping down on the back of her head happened. Which was a motion belonging to only one person. "What do you think you're doing, shortcake?"

[Quinn Largo]

"Wha?" Quinn's hand instinctively went up to catch the menu. She should really get in the habit of being more mindful of her surroundings at all times. Alas.

"I'm not making shortcake," she said, as she looked up at Runi next, "whatever that is. I'm making lunch."

[Runi Vizsla]

"No, you are a shortcake. You're not making shortcake," she said, looking over her shoulder. "That's a lot. You want some help?"

[Quinn Largo]

"Hmmm... okay."

Quinn moved over a little, giving her some room.

"Do you know what..." she pointed at an ingredient she hadn't been able to identify "...that is? It looks good, but I don't want to accidentally poison myself."

[Runi Vizsla]

Runi took out a long knife. "It's a fruit. It's good, kinda sweet and tart. Just..." She jammed the knife into the fruit and then smacked it on the table, causing it to split and reveal sweet-smelling flesh inside. "... don't eat the shell."

[Quinn Largo]

"Uh... thanks," she said, trying a bit. She had already figured out it was a fruit, but it was nice to get confirmation. And it wasn't bad tasting.

"So haven't seen you around lately," she continued the lunch-production work.

[Runi Vizsla]

"... I've been pretty busy, yeah," she acknowledged as she worked.

[Quinn Largo]

"What with? Can't be bartending, right? Can't be gambling either, or I'd have taken your money."

[Runi Vizsla]

"Mostly exploring," she failed to explain.

[Quinn Largo]

Quinn tried to reach out through the force, and get a sense of what the red woman was feeling... but it wasn't working. All she got was a whole lot of nothing.

"Well, I've been doing that too. I went to the forest, and the mountains. Oh and I've been gambling. It's so easy out here, you wouldn't believe. So, where have you been exploring?"

"Mostly the mountains," she said. "Aren't you a little young to be cheating people out of their hard earned creds?"

[Quinn Largo]

The mountains huh...

She smirked. "Maybe. Or maybe they didn't really earn those credits in the first place."

[Runi Vizsla]

She chuckled at that. "Maybe. I guess that'd be fair."

[Quinn Largo]

"So... uh... this may sound strange. But have you been feeling like... weird stuff lately?"

[Runi Vizsla]

"... Weird stuff? What do you mean?" She asked, not looking over.

[Quinn Largo]

"Like... I don't know," Quinn struggled to find the right way of talking about the subject, "like, something bad's coming."

[Runi Vizsla]

"... Yeah." She said, voice quiet.

[Quinn Largo]

"Yeah?" Quinn turned it into a question, pressing for more.

[Runi Vizsla]

"I think something bad's already here," she said, moving to wash the dishes she was done with.
