Funny Runi-ng Into You Here (D4, MM)

[Soren Lom]

Banks Lason walked up the steps to the front of Runi's door on the second floor. He tapped slightly on the door and twitched his feet up and down as he waited for a reply.

[Runi Vizsla]

An exhausted-looking Runi answered the door. It didn't look like she'd gotten much sleep and her eyes were a little bloodshot. Her was dressed in a loose pair of pants and a half-shirt. "Oh, hey. What can I do for you?"

[Soren Lom]

He smiled charmingly and took a quick look up and down at the woman, "Mornin'! Had a bit of a request if you don't mind."

He reached into his cloak and said, "Don't be startled, pulling out my rifle. I'm trying to calibrate it a bit and can't seem to get it... You seemed like you might know how to do some of this stuff though... That was a pretty cool modded tank you fixed up."

[Runi Vizsla]

She stepped back from the door and into the room, heading over to her workbench. She smiled at the compliment and nodded. "Thanks. I might be able to manage it. Mind if I take a look?" She gestured for him to set the gun down on the table. "What've you been trying for?"

[Soren Lom]

He pulled up beside her and smiled warmly, "Thanks. You're the best."

"I've been trying to improve the accuracy on the sighting system... Seems to be a bit off." He said as he put the rifle on the table.

She sat down to take a look at the blaster, pulling out an unusual multitool. "I can give it a shot. Can't make any promises, but I'll do my best."

[Soren Lom]

"Thanks." He said with a smile and leaned in to watch her work.

"So... what's your story? You... Cal's girl or something?" He asked.

[Runi Vizsla]

"You make it sound like ownership," she said as she worked. "I did decide to come back and see where things went. But I'm a Mandalorian. I'm here to settle for a while between jobs, work on my armor and weapon."

She looked toward him. "How about you?"

[Soren Lom]

"Me? Pretty standard stuff. Hunt baddies for people. People hear stuff in a bar so I linger around here for tips. Cal helps guide me to jobs and whatnot. And I wasn't talkin' about unitary ownership... but like... you know. 'Co-ownership' and all that stuff." He said with a smile. "Relationships and all that jazz."

[Runi Vizsla]

"Yeah... I don't know. Maybe. Things are... more complicated than they were," she sighed as she finished up her work, a smile crossing her face. "And there we go. Simple fix."

She put away her tool and handed the now fully modded gun to Soren. "Test her, obviously, before trying to shoot anything, but she should be good to go."

Soren took the weapon and sighted it up briefly, "Awesome! Thank you kindly my dear. You're a lifesaver."

He looked down the length of the barrel at the wall while continuing the conversation, "So you from here originally?"

[Runi Vizsla]

"Nope. Grew up for the first part of my life on Mandalore," she said, turning tored him. " Became a Merc to escape the occupation."

[Soren Lom]

"Mandalore, eh? That's pretty badass." He said with a look in his eyes that reflected the sincerity of the comment.

"Is that where your parents were from?"

[Runi Vizsla]

" Yeah, I liked it. It's where my dad was from... Mom was raised on Coruscant," she explained, turning in her chair and smiling. "I think it's be fair to exchange life stories - I can't be the only one with an interesting life here."

[Soren Lom]

"Whoa, Coruscant and Mandalore, pretty big time." He said with a smile.

"Me, I'm not so fancy. Spent some time on Relus as a kid. Moved around for a while, don't have any parents or anything to speak of. Got into bounty huntin' to make ends meet. Found my way out here on a job. Stayed since it seems to be a place that those looking to get away seem to run to."

[Runi Vizsla]

"That's a fact," she chuckled. "Trying to get away from anything in particular?"

[Soren Lom]

"Oh, I might have misspoken there... I came here on a job... hunting people. And have stayed because it seems the prey comes to me as I wait here."

[Runi Vizsla]

She chuckled and nodded. "Like a spider and its web."

[Soren Lom]

"Damn good predators they are. Sometimes it pays to be lazy. Like for instance... I don't have to waste half of my life travelling in hyperspace to get somewhere a target is. I can hang out at my local bar and they come to me." He said with a smile.

[Runi Vizsla]

"It helps even more when the bounty hunters are running the bar," she laughed.
