[Lena Arcturus]

Lena was busy under one of the pipes in the engineering room, slowly and carefully putting back the plating. The hydro hydraulic fluid was wonky, too old, and and too thin when the engine warmed up. They'll need a new can of the stuff, and she looked around for her datapad to add it to the never ending list of things to patch on the bird.

"You're cute when you're covered in grease, Dear." Kai teased as he arrived on the scene, a pair of Caf mugs in his hands.

"Everything under there looking ok?" He asked a moment later holding out Lena's mug.

[Lena Arcturus]

"Your fetishes are becoming more and more disturbing." Lena slowly crawled out from under the pipe, accepting the mug, this one labeled with the Arcturus Industries logo, a black star with a white sun in the middle of it.

"Found anything interesting yet?"

[Kai Wryssald]

"Mmmm... It could just be because you can make almost anything look cute." Kai countered, as he brought his cup to his lips.

"And no, nothing solid at least. All in all this seems like a pretty bad place for our line of work," which was a bit disappointing. "What about you? Find anything?"

[Lena Arcturus]

"A dip in quality of our fluids." She gestured towards the pipe. "Besides that... not much. Not my kind of planet. I'm an urban girl. This place is not urban." She took a sip of coffee, raising the mug appreciatively to him. "Good batch."

Her smile was tired a she spoke. "And thanks..." She slowly hugged herself. "Still not used to the lack of uniform."

"Yeah, this place is a bit more like I'm used to." He took a few steps closer. "Which by that I mean boring. I'm sure there are a few trendy spots around but I haven't exactly gone looking for them, and I don't really have much of a wardrobe for it either." HE finished with a soft chuckle.

His tone turned playful again as he continued. "If you're wanting a uniform we can come up with one. "Short skirt, heels, maybe a cute little hat." He shook his head. "Sorry I'm feeling a bit ludic this morning." Word of the day get!

[Lena Arcturus]

"Heels make piloting awkward. Have you seen the pedals?" She shook her head, though there was a small smile playing on her mouth. "Glad you like the calendar. At least I know what to get you for Life Day."

She took a seat on the edge of a chair. "Place looks like you'd like it. You'd get bored, but like it for a while."

"It's hard to get the words in some days, but it's a fun challenge." He replied leaning up against the bulkhead beside her. "I'm sure you'd manage piloting in heels though, and if they got in the way you'd just kick them off and pilot in the thigh highs." Apparently stockings were part of the uniform as well. This was followed by a pause. "Still wondering what to get you for life day. It's a a toss up between booze and lingerie at this point."

"Yeah, true enough." Kai agreed with a nod. "Though I was thinking the next time we need to lay low we can go someplace a bit more scenic. The beach, or the mountains, or someplace like that?"

[Lena Arcturus]

"Oh, why did I not think of that. Only if you'll also wear heels and stockings though." She raised her mug towards him, then narrowed her eyes. "The lingerie prank was barely fun the first time." She sighed. "How's your gear holding up? No bantha poo clogging anything up I hope?"

[Kai Wryssald]

"I dont think I can pull them off as well as you, Dear. The skirt sure, I just dont have the legs for stockings though."

"True, but you looked good in it." He replied his smile teasing. "As for my gear though, well enough. I was curious if you had a bit of time to maybe mod a bit of it though."

[Lena Arcturus]

Lena sighed. "Well, I did look good, but not like I bring many dates up here..." she didn't trust the group not to tease someone to death.

"Sure. The fluid will hold for now, nothing more I can do. What were you thinking of exactly?"

[Kai Wryssald]

"As just a few tweaks on the grip mainly." He replied as he produced his blaster rifle. "See if I can make it a bit more comfortable? I dunno."

"It's not like many of us go on any dates, though Lena. You know what I mean." His lips curled into a half smile. "Not like I can bring a lady by and introduce her to my three beautiful coworkers." It would be awkward in more ways then one. "That's the life we lead right now though, right/"

"It's not like many of us go on any dates, though Lena. You know what I mean." His lips curled into a half smile. "Not like I can bring a lady by and introduce her to my three beautiful coworkers." It would be awkward in more ways then one. "That's the life we lead right now though, right/"

"Ah, you want a smooth grip on your barrel?" She smirked at her juvenile joke. "I'll take a look, sure. You still have that kit, right?"

She put down her caf and made some room on one of her desks, carefully putting away everything in order. "Of course I know. You'll never meet anyone as lovely as the captain and us." She smiled at him, then let out a sigh. "You ever wonder if this will ever end, though?"

"That also sounded like a offer, Dear." He teased in return, with a light chuckle. Moments later he was passing his rifle over though as long with the maintenance kit. "Sure do. You wanting the usual payment?"

"I'd be hard pressed to meet ladies as lovely, that's for sure." He agreed with a grin m, before turning more somber. "Nothing can go on forever. All this will likely end someday. I mean, it already has for one of us." His smile turned a bit crooked. "I just try to make the best of it, and enjoy the present. I like you lot after all.:

Lena accepted both, and started unpacking hte kit, putting tiny tools and bottles of oils down next to the weapon. "Ha! you charmer you." She shrugged meanwhile. "Yeah, will need to buy some new bits to replace the ones I'll use for these." She pulled her own kit out, taking out some sprockets.

"Yeah... I'd prefer not to go out tht way. Then again, I'm not sure what I'd prefer. Do you ever.. miss it? The organization. The.. whole of it. Being part of something larger. Having a place."

"I do my best, and you'd slap me if you didn't like it." He replied with a grin. "Aye, I know." He said easily. "I always end up doing that. I'll pencil you in for one foot rub too." It would be easy enough to find the time, it would just have to be when the others were out. else it might turn into one of those 'me next' moments.

"Parts of it." Kai said after a moments hesitation. "The regular pay check for one. Other's not so much. I'm not sure I like the idea of fighting for other peoples ideal's again. Well at least if it's not something I believe in." He turned his eyes towards the ceiling. " As for having a place.... I dunno. Being out here on our own can be scary, really scary if I'm honest. But there is a freedom to it that's nice, even if it\s not something I really have any idea of what to do with."

Lena started her work on the weapon, humming along, handing a few things for Kai to hold. "There, that should do it." She nodded along as he spoke, then let out a sigh. "I get that, but... it's strange for me. I was always part of something. And as cuddly as this group is, I still feel cut off." She frowned, then sighed. "My parents contacted me awhile ago."

Kai assisted as best he could, which was mainly handing over the asked for tools. "Thanks." He replied, giving her a slap on the rear for fun, and maybe to get a reaction.

"I suppose I can understand that." He replied a teasing smile on his lips as he took a bit of distance, to make retaliation harder. "Especially with well your family..." He trailed off for a moment.

"Mind if I ask what they wanted?"

Lena shrugged. "Asked how I was... and hinted at some new contracts with the New Republic. And some possible open postings." She sighed, observed the gun once more, and handed it back.

"You thought about visiting home?"

[Kai Wryssald]

"Home?" He shook his head. "There really isnt much of anything for me there. Most if the people I knew would be lying gone by now as well." His lips quirked into a half smile. "You could say I dont really have much of a place to go back to."


"Joining the new republic though, huh?" Kai accepted the gun back as it was passed his way. "It sounds a bit dangerous to me honestly." There was a lingering pause. "And lonely."
