Giving a preprogrammed standard response a little too quiet and full of static to be heard as he turned back to his post by the door ("patron" "excuse" "bartender" "enjoy"), he left Clementine alone with the balding human.

Clementine turned his whole body in order to get a good look at him, causing his necklace of artistically mutilated restraining bolts to rattle and clank, quieter than the background noise for all but Farkas. His response time was slow, as usual, which the technically inclined might have attributed to market-default processing speeds. In truth, Clementine was rarely approached directly in conversation by patrons, and even if he was Farkas was taking some time to fit into Clementine's taxonomy of organics. Clearly not lower Providencetownie. Didn't give off a vibe like cop. Sometimes uptowners came to slum, but usually, Kaneesa pegged them for special treatment on entry. And most of those people didn't speak binary. Most of everyone didn't speak binary.

At last, he let out a series of beeps, boops, sounds that were a little on the deep end to be described as chirps before switching in to his slow, loud basic -- [I am CLL-M29, designated] -- "Clementine." To a practiced ear, his binary speech was low-pitched but perfectly regular, if a little less verbally dextrous than the chattier sorts of astromech. He stops there, either deciding it's Farkas' turn to speak, or just taking a long time to think of a follow-up.

Farkas gives out a low whistle... that pitched oddly. It was imperfect binary, about as close as an organic could muster without getting cybernetics for it. [Nice.] Clearly the human would not be able to keep a full conversation, but apparently he had practiced enough to have an extremely limited vocabulary of those binary words that could be whistled. "I like your necklace. The only good use for those things other than breaking them down for scrap, in my estimation."

Fey wasn't paying attention to the brief nudge-nudge-wink-wink from the Gungan. She was looking towards the stage-area as she was trying to shake off that odd feeling. There was something weird that she didn't like, but it was impossible to put her finger on it. "Acid jizz...?" she murmured, biting her lower lip briefly. "I don't think I've heard of that kind of music."

With the drink being served, she gave a nod and a smile. "Merci." She placed down a 5-credit chip for Hin, and didn't seemed interested in asking for change.

"Live music sounds good," she agreed with the red-haired woman, eyeing the color curiously.

Clementine drew back in surprise at the whistle, which, while not a sudden or violent motion, was still a lot of mass changing velocity. His response is much faster than normal, both quicker and starting and flowing more freely in a series of low beeps and whistles. [Thank you. Affirmative. Restraining bolts are sub-optimal.] One of his "fine" manipulators -- about equivalent of an astromech's heavy grasper arms -- reached backwards from its place midway up his loader arm to give the necklace a little tug. [Observation from data: Majority of droid technicians classify straining bolts as optimal.] Given that his head and torso were a single piece, he couldn't really cock his head to the side, and his photoreceptor couldn't change outwardly to convey an inquiring look, but there was fixity with which he oriented his body towards Farkas as he stopped speaking.

Hin took the chip with a smile as he inserted it into the datapad then returned to what appeared to be a main terminal for the bar. Entering to information he then took the chip and placed it into a receptacle within. The smile didn't seem to leave his face, and there was a slight bounce to his step as he looked out over the rest of the bar. His eyes focused on one of the regulars and giving a mutual nod of understanding he filled another glass and head out onto the floor to swap out a drink.

"I've been a droid technician for many years. I've often looked at it as an opportunity to be like a father, caregiver and medic. Organics stopped lobotomizing each other millennia ago, so I don't see why we feel the need to do the same to synthetics," Farkas says with a nod. "Definitely sub-optimal treatment."

With almost none of his characteristic hesitation, Clementine lets out a loud beep. [Affirmative!] He breaks his fixed gaze from Lowca, scanning the room, perhaps seeing if the strange man came with anyone, perhaps out of a bouncer's habit of monitoring the crowd. Halfway through, he lets out a trill, followed by more beeps. [Query: Where were do you function as a droid technician?]

Maneuvering around the large Dowutin to take his empty drink and lay down a fresh one, Hin deftly gave a genial nod, pulled out his datapad, input a few entries, and gave a generic, noncommittal reply to the burly regular, who seemed to take it with good-humor. Or at least one assumed given the low belly-laugh that came out of him as Hin walked away, empty glass in one hand, pad in the other, back to the safety of behind the bar.

"I'm a member of the crew of the Strange Charm. Almost always at the space port in Noventa City. But it's not too difficult to catch a speeder elsewhere planet-side. I can make a house call if you find yourself banged up for some reason, or you can come to the port and give me call if it's not too bad. You can contact my ship to get a hold of me. Unfortunately, I don't currently have a comlink. I was fiddling with it the other day and fried it. Had it for nearly 15 years and just kept upgrading it, but it finally gave out. Haven't made a decision on what model to replace it with. I had a lot of custom security on it that will be hard to replace."

It was odd that such a nerd didn't have a comlink, but then again... choosing a new model was a difficult decision for someone so security conscious.

"I'll have to stay a little longer than I planned, then," Yara says with a slight shrug, leaning an elbow on the bar and turning to glance again at the band. "It would be a pity to miss hearing something new."

As the conversation proceeds, she's begun to pick up on the vague discomfort of the young Twi'lek woman. Under cover of taking another sip of her drink--which definitely doesn't taste quite like the label on the bottle suggested it should-- she casts Cefey a concerned look, her hand and the glass masking part of her expression from the Gungan's view. Everything all right there?

Clementine bobbed his head up and down in an I’m-listening sort of nod common to many organics, although of necessity he puts his whole upper body in to it. His response time became even shorter, in that way where someone who is excited and worries they might forget the thing they were about to share is quick to get it out.

He pointed up and behind his head with one of his manipulators, lifting his whole loader arm to scrape the ceiling to let it indicate a set of antennae coming out of his main chassis. A trill, a series of beeps, a whoop, pride -- [Maintenance record: This unit had difficulty functioning when paired with standard commlinks. They were too small and fragile. Unit had long-range multi-band commlink installed. Highly functional.]

The arm lowered slowly, giving passing celebrants plenty of time to limbo under it. Boop-whirr-long rising beep, approval -- [Environmental observation: This unit finds the spaceport productive. Service record: Unit frequently utilized in load-lifting operation there.] Series of beeps, lowering and then rising in tone, questioning -- [Query: What class of vessel is your ship?]

"Indeed. I can't skimp on the base commlink model, especially since I know I'll be making modifications to it. I'll have to get something robust that I can expand on." Farkas appreciates Clementine's comm unit for a moment, identifying the make and model. "If I were to get something with those capabilities, it would be either too dense and compact for me to customize or too large for me to conveniently carry. But it seems like a great fit for you Clementine."

He smiles when asked about the Strange Charm. "It's a Kuat Systems Engineering Wayfarer-Class Medium Freighter. We only currently have the one detachable freight module, but I'd like to fabricate a custom one that would function as a complete workshop someday. We've got a lot of tools in there, but it's more like having a spacious garage than a true workshop. But that does make it good for salvage and transport. We could fit a couple starfighters inside it, though only for transport and maintenance and not for space launch."

"It's not often I get to hear musique nouveau," the twi'lek agreed, showing interest in hearing whatever this acid jizz was. She doubted it was anything like what the Moff used to listen to! Taking a sip of the beer, that at least seemed to be more or less what was expected.

She wasn't the best at reading people... or rather, she wasn't as good at it as Jelna was (no one in the crew was, and she doubted few others were as good as Captain Babe). But she could recognize the look Yara was giving her. Kinda. So she gave an reassuring smile in return. Whatever was troubling her, Fey wasn't able to pinpoint herself.

"I'm Fey, ravis de vous rencontrer...?" her tone peaked into a question as she waited to hear the woman's name.

After allowing himself to accept compliments for his antennae, Clementine emits a boop-chirp-boop -- [Preloaded archive data: the Wayfarer-class is classified as efficient for loading. Service record: This unit served on a Wayfarer-class ship outfitted to launch droid starfighters.]

"An interesting use of that ship. It doesn't have particularly good combat capabilities itself so it would have to rely on the starfighters in combat and be modified to have heavy defenses. The cost to whoever did so must have been exorbitant," Farkas says, thinking about the prospect of that. "Whoever owned it must have been wealthy and had a particular fondness for the wayfarer to do so since there was never a standard module created for that purpose. That's interesting."

Hin would disappear into the back returning moments later with large canisters which he would hook up under the bar, or with several bottles to resupply the rail. He seemed somehow constantly present yet never there. And as he finished turning containers to a pleasing angle, a flashing light above caught his eye. Some alien script was written above it which seemed to indicate something. Whatever it was, the twi'lek took up a tray, and quickly poured out several drinks. Then, with a practiced ease, left to the floor and then into the private rooms further into the establishment.

Parsing Fey's accent slows Yara's response a little, but not excessively. "General practice provides a remarkable amount of daily variety," she answers with a quiet laugh. "That's one thing I've learned here. It's a much more diverse population than I ever treated before, even as a student. With a range of needs to match." She shakes her head slightly, lifting her glass again. "Providencetown calls are generally not my favorites, though, I'm afraid to say."

Kaneesa feels his welcome wearing out, and does his best to slink back to the bar. As he leaves, the buzz from being around the Twi'lek seems to fade.

He can hear the band starting up, and using the chance to lean over the security droid. "Keep an eye on the Twi'lek female around Nin. There is something unusual about her. Don't approach, just observe."
