All along the net on Noventa, a signal on the emergency channels was blasted.

"This is the Profitable Dream! We are under attack! It... looks li..." The comm went dead, quite visibly jammed. The Secor Rangers and the Militia, already on high alert, have sent a team on an airspeeder, to aid the massive cargo hauler speeder.

It could be something. It could be nothing. Or...

It could be the first move...

If the Sector Rangers and Militia were gonna be there, Cal was gonna be there, too. Wearing his heavy duster, and with pistol in hand, Cal was ready for whatever trouble there was.

Oh, and his hat, of course. Couldn't go to a good dust-up without his hat.

When the signal was sent the large Rattataki named Soren was quick to reply.

As they approached he checked the area carefully with his infrabinoculars... not wanting to be caught unawares.

Kor saw Cal suiting up for a tussle and did the same. His armor strapped on and axe ready for action Kor followed the old lawman out to the trouble.

Well this didn't seem good, especially in the weather. But Kai was there to do what he could...

At the very least he had to keep Cefey out of trouble. so he approached Blaster Rifle in hand

Kai gets one free maneuver before combat begins. One minion group gets a free maneuver before combat begins.

The airspeeder came to the large cargo hauler, smoke already billowing out from the port engine. A firefight could be heard from this vantage point. The Speeder pilot managed to land the thing atop the cargo hauler, holding her steady to allow each of you to get out.

The fight will take place throughout the cargo hauler. On the roof...

One of the hatches blows open, as a group of beings, men and women, dressed in farmers clothing, armed with blaster carbines, begins to level on you (Minion group maneuver from triumph.).

The group is at long range (the hauler is huge) from the airspeeder. Five of them begin to pile out. Atop of the cargo hauler, there are crates scattered about, with some at short range to your speeder, providing cover. Several canisters are strapped down, as the rain pours down on all of you. What you can see on the canisters, the usual symbols for flammable material.

The group spread out as they marched out, goggles covering their faces, though it did not offer much in terms of protection from the rain. Moving closer to the airspeeder, unable to get into position just yet.

NPC group one has moved, and sacrificed their action for a second maneuver, to get into Medium Range, behind a stack of crates. They have spread out, and are at short range from each other.

Fey was quick to react, realising that these weren't mere peasants or disgruntled pedestrians. The first blaster was drawn, and she successfully landed some covering fire as she scampered into cover.

The bolt caught one of the group in the shoulder, causing him to stumble back. However, doing so, one of the many shots from blaster fire from Cefey impacted one of the canisters, sending smoking billowing out into the battlefield, some of it blowing straight at her, making breathing difficult (1 threat used to cause 1 strain to Cefey. 2 threat used to add a setback die Cefey on her next turn).

The din of battle was sure to draw attention from below! (NPC slot used by actions within the crawler).

The blaster bolt tears into one of the 'farmers' sending him sprawling back, into one of his compatriots. With a scream, the pair tumble over the side, as Soren's rifle found it's mark.

The rain was steady, but so was Cal's hand. He dashed out of the speeder, firing as he went, the bolts hissing though the air as they evaporated the rain.

His duster flapped dramatically as he took cover behind one of the crates not marked as explosive. His back pressed against it as he waited for another opportunity to pop up and fire again.

As the gunslinger's pistol sings it's song, it catches a farmer square in the chest, sending her flying back hard against a crate, before she slumps to the ground. Two of the group still standing, one looking rather bloodied as they grip their carbines in the firefight.

"What's going on up there!" A woman's voice echoes from a comm, before the hauler shifts suddenly, making for unsure footing.

Action taken to move the hauler, creating unstable terrain, another setback die added to checks as long as people are on top of the hauler.

There were quite a few people here and won below, and it wasn't likely that this fight would end in short order. So taking Aim at the group in front of him he took fire. Better to take some people out then cower into cover. right?

Kor knew how this song and dance went, he stuck behind cover while the people with blasters softened up the group. After a bit he figured he better do some work and leaped over some cover and dashed as fast as he could towards the group under fire. He leaped over the barrier they were behind and swung his axe with all the strength his large arms could muster the blade biting into one of the 'farmers'

The Blaster bolts fired from Kai take down one of the farmers, forcing them to drop, as Kor leaps into action, the vibro axe slashing through the man's torso, a gutteral wail as he was cut down, at the behemoth of a man' s feat. Looking at the fallen, it was apparent to tell that these really weren't farmers, too well equipped, and too well trained in formation tactics. The hatch to the interior of the cargo hauler beckoned, as smoke poured out from behind it.

Kai and Kor, each of you take two strain for the threat, a result of the jerking motion of the hauler beneath your feet.

TOP OF THE ORDER

"SC-426, report in. SC-426!" One of the farmers bodies muffled the sound of a communicator. "Kriff..." before the line went dead.

Blaster fire could be heard from below, followed by a shrill scream.

Looking down the hatch, you can see it leads down to a common room. Steam and smoke pouring from panels, as the sounds of blaster fire can be heard down a main hallway moving off of it, directly heading towards the cockpit of the hauler. The heat is apparent as the damage to the engines has caused a venting problem to take hold throughout the vessel. In the common room...

The bodies of crewmembers, obviously from a struggle. They didn't give up the ship without a fight.
