(D4 ME) Here Comes the Rain(e) (and also Temra) (Yara too)

Noventa's long diurnal cycle usually makes for long twilights to match, but today the vicious rainstorm over Noventa City scarcely let much daylight through to the surface to begin with. Past sunset, darkness is sudden and nearly complete, except for the flashes of lightning and the town's lights reflecting brokenly off the sheets of rain.
Yara tugs her old padded vest--the white one with her old insignia and SURH, Y stitched into it--a little tighter and returns her attention from the rain-streaked window to the kitchen heating element, where a pan of milk is only just beginning to throw off a little blue steam.

A crack of thunder and flash of lightning preceded Temra's entry into the kitchen. "Damn glad I fixed that generator last week. There's already word of a few buildings losing power from the storm." He exposited as he walked in, bundled up in a warm wooly blanket.

Raine follows along not far behind, in the process of taking off a very wet jacket to hang it up. “Yeah, good thing. It’s awful out there, I was out in that storm for five minutes to check the windows and I’m soaked.”
Thankfully, the jacket protected most of Raine’s hair from suffering the same fate as a few strands at the front, which clings to her face like seaweed. Her pants did not fair as well, the knees and and shins seemingly taking the brunt of a gust of rainy wind at one point.
Something about seeing Raine not be in her security armor would be odd to the others, it only rarely happpens.

"Power outage would be no joke at all, with a patient still in one of the tanks," Yara agrees fervently. "The windows look all right, then?" She swirls the pan of milk carefully. "I suppose I've only been here a year, but I'd got used to the weather forecasts here being rather accurate, on the whole. How did they ever miss this?" The question seems as much rhetorical as not.

Temra tucks his knees up to his chin as he snuggles into an arm chair. "I could hypothesize a scenario, there's something wrong out there and it's only getting worse. Bad weather is hardly the worst side effect it is likely to generate."
"And by wrong, I mean on both a galactic and spiritual level. If you catch my drift."

"Spiritual level?" Yara's brows draw together and her forehead creases as she turns back from the cabinet with a box of tea in her hand. "I'm afraid you've lost me." She winces as another crack of thunder breaks overhead

Raine makes certain not to lean any of the wet part of her body against the counter as she rests against it. “Windows seem fine. I did clear some debris away so nothing gets broken.”
She crosses her arms across her chest, combating the chill of the rain that had seeped through her clothes. “I should probably change into something dry.”

"Probably, yes," Yara says, lips quirking. "I'm nearly half done with this milk tea, if you want some once you're dry."

Temra nods his agreement. "It would hardly do for us to become our own patients." He responds with a barking laugh.

"That farmer that we helped, Bamsh? He said there's some force sensitive areas around here and that something wrong has been building up lately."

“Hey, if you’re willing to share some, it would be nice. Somethin’ hot sounds really good right now, doc.” The younger woman pushed herself away from the counter space with a chuckle. “Well, I’ll be back before you know it.”
With that, Raine quickly made way to her quarters to grab some dry pants and a shirt. One could tell she was in a hurry based on the frequency of the loud ‘clomps’ her boots made as they touched the ground. Though, her return would be much quieter, as she decides to ditch those boots in favor of dry warm socks. It was weird seeing Raine this casual, her sweatpants and t-shirt were usually something she wore to sleep.

Temra wandered over to the stove. The time that Raine had been away had allowed the tea to come to a low boil and was ready to serve.
"Are you having another cup Ms Suhr?" He asked as he poured cups for himself and Raine and handed one over to the newly attired lady.

"Yes, I still haven't got the chill out from earlier." Yara shakes her head ruefully. The humidity is playing extravagant tricks with her wavy hair today; with any light behind her at all, her head looks like it's surrounded by a fuzzy electrical halo. "'Yara' is fine, you know, Temra. Particularly up here," she adds as she pours another cupful of milky tea into her mug.
"I thought the Force is more of a sort of... spiritual-psychological concept. Are you saying Bamsh thinks it has something to do with the weather?"

Temra smiles broadly as he turns around to pour for Raine amd himself. "Of course it is Ms Suhr."
"As for the weather though. It's just a theory of mine extrapolating on known natural and assumed supernatural phenomena. Let's just say I'm a little predisposed to noticing certain unnatural events and occurences."

Raine accepts the cup, happy to get some warmth from the drink. “Thanks, Temra. And as far as supernatural stuff, I’ll leave that kinda thing to the people that know about that. I’m just a simple ex-Soldier.”

Yara is not 'a person who knows about that,' but that doesn't get in the way of academic curiosity. "How does that work? According to your theory." She arranges her fingers around the warm mug. "Are you suggesting someone is... I don't know, doing this? I don't know much about the old Jedi, but I'd understood that whatever they did was mostly a matter of extrasensory perception and enhanced cognition, learned by way of some sort of religious code..."
Truthfully, the main thing she knows about the Force is that Skywalker believed in it, and everyone who'd been with the Alliance at the same time as the man could see he was a near-supernaturally skillful pilot who had survived several things he really had no right to.

"I think it's less of a someone and more of a something. Mr Bamsh was concerned about some rising darkness in the mountains, apparently some old temple was discovered not too long ago up there." Temra tries to sound casual about it, while at the same time informing the others about it, just in case.

"I can't say I understand any of that. But.. I can't say I disbelieve you, either." Yara frowns pensively into her mug. "Should we presume...um... that you're our local expert on these matters, Temra? Like Raine is on security issues?"

Temra lets out a barking guffaw. "Hardly an expert Ms Suhr, more of an intrigued observer, but I do try to keep up with such scuttlebutt on this sort of talk. We all have our hobbies after all."

“I see. So supernatural research is a hobby of yours, Temra?” Raine asks as she tilts her head off to the side, looking at the man with curious eyes.

"I am a hopelessly curious individual Ms Raine." Temra explained without pause as he moved to his seat and took a large sip of his hot drink. "But to say I research such topics is a little over the top."
