(D0 A) Lay of the Land

Jelna took in the surroundings of the clinic before heading on in. It was imperative for her to remember exactly where the place was, the dimensions, and so on. Never knew when she would need a doctor or if she needed to pay somebody a special visit.

Once inside, she wrapped her arms around herself, palms on her arms. The blonde woman was going for a more 'lost' look than somebody up to no good. She brushed past anybody she could as she tried to learn more about the layout until anybody directly stopped her.

Jelna caught the attention of a casually dressed Iktotchi as he wandered around the waiting room with the confidence of somebody who knew the building and its inhabitants fairly well.

"Can I help you Miss?" He enquired politely as the apparently lost female glanced around the clinic.

Yara, slipping into the receptionist's domain to hand over a file, shoots the blonde interloper a concerned look. It could be 'concerned' in the sense of 'are you all right, citizen?' or possibly 'what nonsense are you up to in my hallway'?; it's not superficially easy to tell.

A pair of lines appear between her brows as she waits for the woman to answer Temra's question.

For a few seconds, she ignored the question. However, she soon blinked, and looked up at the iktochi in front of her. "Oh, you're very kind, sir. Ya don't work here, do ya?" She looked him up and down. "But, um, I'd rather not talk to ya about what's goin' on. It's a bit personal." She put her palms on her belly and wondered if the man would get the message.

As uncomfortable with social interaction as Temra generally was, he was quite happy for the blonde to keep her medical secrets private.

"I do in fact work here Miss, but not in a diagnostic function. If you'll take a seat over here and fill out as much of this paperwork as you deem fit, I'll arrange for a far more suitable staff member to attend your needs."

Upon hearing a new voice, Raine steps out of her security office just to take a peek at what was going on. It was her job, after all, to keep an eye out for anything suspicious. So far it seemed like she was more of a potential patient, but Raine decided to watch this all out.

"Oh I reckon that's not necessary," she remarked. Her eyes darted around as she kept her hands on her waist. "I was hopin' I could just get this all settled quickly, is all."

"I understand you're in discomfort, but we can't take a proper medical history without opening an intake file, Ms...?" The doctor's voice trails upward as she sets down her datapad, her clipped Core Worlds accent rubbed a little soft around the edges. "Someone can fetch you a heat pad to make you more comfortable in the interim. It should only take a few minutes."

And that someone would have to be Raine, seeing as she was the only one not engaged with the potential patient. So she made her way to a back room to grab a heating pad. She looks over the selection and grabs the human/near-human sized heating pad and made her way back to the doctor.

“Here you are,” she says softly in her own accented way as she holds out the item in question.

"Oh that's quite alright, I don't think I need it." Despite saying that, she took the pad and put it on her cause it felt nice.

Female doctor, huh? Guess I can't clam up the same way I did with the iktochi fellow.

She sighed and took a seat. "Ms. Vawn," she said as she filled out the form.

Looking around the assemblage, Temra realized there was one Y chromosome too many. He forced an obviously fake smile and hefted his hydrospanner.

"While you attend the patient, I'll deal with the electrical wiring issue at the reception desk." Temra spoke softly, but not secretively to Yara.

"Thank you, Ms. Vawn." The doctor's voice is cool but reassuring. "If there is anything in the forms you are uncertain about, just ask." Though this patient doesn't look like a person who's typically uncertain about much of anything.

After being relieved of the heating pad, Raine takes a few steps back and resumes her duties as security. The patient didn’t seem like she was going to cause trouble anytime soon, so she didn’t have to bother the woman. Still, she kept her glance towards the doctor and the patient, only taking it off to check on Temra every now and then. Working with wiring could be dangerous, after all.

Jelna filled in the form with no current medications nor allergies. The only medical history that she had of mention was being shot before on several occasions but she had no formal logs of them. She just put a note that said exactly, "Been shot a few times before."

Under current medical concern, she put it plainly by writing, "Afraid of pregnancy."

Yara casts a quick glance at Temra behind the desk while waiting for the patient info to appear on her datapad. "All right," she says with a nod once her screen populates. "I'll see you in exam room two, Jelna. I have a prescription to enter for another patient, but I'll only be a few moments." Her manner is professional but not cold, her expression sympathetic to the (as far as she knows) worried younger woman.

Some flashes and sparks escaped the periphery of the desk under which Temra was working. A few growls of frustration echoed out as he worked, but soon enough his work was done and he slid back out into the waiting room, looking up at Raine.

"The adjustments to the security cameras are working alright, yah?"

The woman nodded and made her way towards the rooms on her own. On the way, she made sure to look up and down the hallways slowly. She looked over her shoulder to see if anybody was watching her. If not, she'd walk a bit farther to get a better grasp of the layout. Otherwise, she'd continue into Exam Room 2 like a good patient.

Raine gives the man a nod; he did good work around the place and she certainly appreciates the help keeping everything secure. “Yes. Also, thanks for fixing the lighting in my office. The constant flickering was driving me mad.”

"Can't have that. You may be the only truly sane one around here," Yara says with dry humor, tapping formulae and dosages into the terminal while trying to stay out of Temra's way. "There. If the 17:30 patient comes early, they can wait in Exam One. This shouldn't take long."

Patting a wisp of wavy hair back into place, she picks up her datapad and heads down the hallway, eyes on the screen in her hand even as she walks.

Jelna's reconnaissance would have been uninterrupted by anything other than an ankle-high cleaning droid bumping along the edge of the corridor. Assuming she has made her way to the exam room, she won't have much of a wait before hearing the doctor tap on the door. "All right if I come in?"

Jelna made a cursory glance around before heading into the exam room. She wondered if all the rooms were scaled to be the same size as one another.

Once the doctor came, she announced, "I'm ready for ya," in a nervous voice.
