May the Forest be with us [D3, MM]

A forest of wonders, the drop off of light is almost immediate when walking just twenty feet beyond the outer edge.

May the Forest be with us [D3, MM]

Scanner goggles... check.
Stick... check.
Force sensitivity... check.
Travelling companion... check?

Quinn made sure to go over everything she had on her, and looked at her companion.

"Now are you sure you don't want to back out?"

With an outer jacket prepped for excursion, Aislea wore a pair of scanner goggles around her neck, a rifle across her waist slung over her shoulder, and a bag full of all sorts of goodies for certain that she kept snugly on her back. Checking the blaster rifle one last time before they proceeded any deeper she looked up to Quinn, "You gonna go in there still if I do?"

"Hmm... probably, yeah?"

She nodded.

"Look, I'm not aiming to get hurt. I'm here because I had a sign. You may not believe that, but it's true. If you see like blue lights, then don't shoot, okay?"

"Won't see much blue in these things," she said, lifting the Scanner goggles, "but I won't go shootin' nothin' that doesn't need being shot at. Draws more attention, blasting off bolts needlessly like that, than we're lookin' for."

"You can wear them if you want," she said, taking off the scanner goggles.

"The forest told me not to wear them last time anyhow."

"Right.. well, I'm here to make sure you don't get eaten so that's the last thing I'm gonna do," she said, glancing forward. "You lead the way. I'll make sure we're covered."

Again, Quinn went into the dark forest... and somehow managed to... achieve something. Maybe.

Making their way deeper into the forest Quinn used her awareness from before, the pull inward she felt, and the tips that Aislea gave her of navigating the forest. While the progress they made was slow because of Aislea's reminder that they needed to be careful not to run astray of any predators. Keeping a strict discipline on movement. Through much effort they were able to find the pond again, the pond that fell to depths unknown. Lights within the pool remained dim.

"This is the place I mentioned. Only the lights were brighter last time..."

She looked around, trying to sense any creatures nearby through the force; but not getting into the right flow. So she tried to rely on her regular senses instead. Maybe there was more to this place.

When Quinn walked to examine the area she listened the the area around her, the sounds of the jungle comforted her senses, believing that the area was free from danger. Nothing stirred in the surrounding forest, just the dim lights from the pond that gave a calming aura of the surrounding area. Aislea too, found the area to be a touch calmer than she expected. Allowing the woman to relax a little.

Roll.

All around the forest appeared still, there was naught a sound to be picked out from their surroundings but there was a subtle presence that they were no longer alone. Something Quinn felt through the force.

"There's something here, get ready," Quinn said, taking out her stick, and moving a few steps into the water, her back against the center of the pool so she could see the treeline better. She tried to reach in through the force for a better picture of how many they were facing, and where from, but came up blank.

Aislea retreated to Quinn's position, kneeling in the water to steady herself and her firearm. Scanning the surrounding area she waited for whatever it was the girl thought she noticed. "I.. I don't see anything kid."

Launching itself from the darkness a sleek, leopard like, creature flew a few meters through the air and sunk it's fangs into Quinn's arm. Knocking her training stick from her hand and into the depths of the pond behind her. Tumbling down to the floor with the creature it held tight to her arm, ensnaring her in it's vicious grasp.

Brawl vs Quinn: 3eP+2eD 2 successes, 2 threat, 2 Triumph

[Please determine the effect of 2 Threats.]
[Area is considered well lit, this pond in particular has enough surrounding lights that I will consider it so.]
[Quinn cannot make maneuvers, and may make a HARD ATHLETICS check in order to end Ensnares ability early.]

Quinn is dealt: Five damage, after Soak of Three. (8-3 = 5)

Seeing Quinn go down as she did, Aislea was quick to turn the gun in an effort to help the girl. However, as soon as she moved another beast jumped from the shadows. Latching onto the woman's arm and dragging her violently sideways and into the depths of the pool. Just barely managing to keep her head afloat as she struggled with the beast latched onto her arm.

Brawl vs Aislea, Second Kitty: 3eP+2eD 2 successes, 3 advantage

[Boost to next.]
[3 Damage]

Piling onto the girl the first of the rest of the pack sought to end the life of their prey. Diving inward it sunk it's teeth into the flesh of the young woman. Claws, teeth, gashing and rending, the woman's Catch Vest wouldn't be seeing use ever again. Torn to shreds in the attack and losing any advantage it might have ever given her. Tails and bodies lashed around angrily during the assault. It was the simple truth of the wild, prey and predator.

Brawl vs Quinn, Third Kitty: 3eP+2eD 1 success, 2 Triumph

[7 - 3, 4 More damage to Quinn, 9 Total]
[Double Triumph used to destroy gear.]

With that final assault the last of the pack descended upon Quinn. Adding to the deadly assault on her person.

Brawl vs Quinn, Fourth Kitty!: 3eP+2eD+1eB 1 success, 1 advantage

[7 Damage, - 3 = 4]
[13 Total Damage]
[Quinn is out.]

Quickly, before the young girl could even have the chance to react to the assault she found herself overwhelmed by the pain wracking her body. Teeth dug into her and as her body started to give way to consciousness from the loss of blood she could feel the hopelessness of her sudden humbling situation consume her. Mixed with the struggling of the woman at her side against the beast that kept Aislea away while the rest of the pack finished off it's prey.

Everything slowly... drifted to black.

Quinn, Critical Hit.: 1d100 26

Discouraging Wound.
