[D10, LM] Package Retrieval (Ivory Phoenix)

It was a new morning, the sun was shining, the birds were singing. The Empire was running with their tail between their legs. Things had begun to work out in all fronts. And now, now was the time to settle the remaining business. First off was the matter of his friend in the cell. To that, he had to make his way back over to the ship once more.

A buzz on the comms from the hangar door followed by a familiar voice. "Hello, darlin'. You in? Here to settle up with ya."

They had gotten home pretty late. Fey vaguely recalled there had been drinks after the fast-paced driving and action.

So it had only been a couple of hours since she had collapsed on the couch for a brief nap after a trip in the shower, and now someone was waking her up. It better not be someone coming to settle a bar-tab... she yawned and rubbed her eyes as she got up from the couch.

Oh right, that voice did sound familiar, didn't it.

The door was opened after a few minutes of wait for Dartris, and Fey offered a smile, albeit a sleepy one. "Hey, bonjour... hmm... what time is it?"

He smiled widely at her appearance and grinned. "Heavy night last night, then? It's already close to noon. Though, I see you were out late celebrating your success." He paused and gave it a few beats. "The Empire being driven back is something to smile about. Excellent news all around." He looked in at her. "You know, I can come back later if you're not up for visitors. Believe me, I've been where you are more than once."

"Oui it is good news. Guess they were more bark than bite, after that show of force during the festival." She had honestly expected them to be a greater resistance, but hey, they were gone now!

"It's alright. You were probably celebrating a little too after they were beaten back, I imagine," she took a few steps back, indicating that he was welcome onboard. "Caf? Or something stronger?"

Kai had been up for a bit, but then being shot and cut with laser swords didnt make for a sound nights sleep. He was still in a bit of pain when he made it to the door.

"Oh, you got it already Cefey." He offered the twi'lek a smile. "Morning Mr. Ribmatt." Kai continued as he saw the other man.

"Many things to celebrate, that being one of them." He smiled. "Though I suppose I can't stay out like I used to anymore. Getting on my years now, you know." He grins and looks at Kai. "Mornin'. You look like shit too." A polite nod after his comment before turning over to Fey. "Caf would be lovely." He looked on at them. "I heard thru various sources that your captain is back. Good news all around, I imagine."

"Good news all around, and yes, our captain came back," she nodded and glanced to Kai with a knowing look. "And some of us are big damn heroes too who are too stubborn for their own good." She'd given him some treatment last night before the heist, but the day after was always unpleasant.

"Caf for you too, Kai?"

"I thought that was Cal? The hero fellow that is. Wasn't he going to run for mayor or something?" Ksi asked with a slight smile.

"Kaf would be nice. I might make myself some eggs or something too though. Anyone else want any?"

"I'm good, thanks." He smiles. "How's that white-skinned bastard doing. Give you any trouble?"

"I'll have some," she nodded. Breakfast sounded nice. Late morning snack? Brunch? Late lunch? Eh, it was a meal of some sort. She just hope she wasn't on dinner-duty today right now.

"He's behaved after your visit, as far as I know. Hasn't even voiced a complaint about the cooking." Not that the cooking was bad, but there were certainly differences in who was responsible that day for the meals. "Though it will be good to have him out of that cell."

"Heh, I'm sure he's just as eager to leave. Fortunately, I got him a place to lay low until the heat is off. Of course, now that the problem is gone, it seems moot." He plopped himself down on a chair and sighed deeply. " Still, Sector Rangers ain't exactly in a place to start taking back up people. At the same time, I much rather he not take up all of your free time that you can't do anything but be his babysitter. I have a crate I can store him in one of my warehouses for a few days where he won't sneak out, lie low, keep him out of sight."

He shrugs. "So what you planning on doing now that the Empire's gone? Sticking here for awhile longer? Moving on to greener pastures?"

"Sounds like quite the luxury-upgrade," she snickered at the idea of Drune moving from a cell to a crate. "But he'll probably like a change of scenery."

Taking a seat too, Fey crossed her legs nonchalantly. "As for us..." she gave a glance to Kai before looking back to Dartris, "I don't think we have any firm plans yet. Will probably stay here a few days I imagine, before moving on, unless there's anything going on here to keep us busy." Her shoulders shrugged as she smiled. "It's something we'll probably talk about in the coming days amongst us."

"I assume it's back to business as usual for yourself?"

"There's always something to keep you busy here, I've learnt. This whole ordeal changes things, you know. New paths on the horizon, new opportunities. New buildings rise as the old ones tumble. No matter what happens, things will be different. Though, if you do leave, I must admit my days would be less brighter. Not too many like you, Fey, and that makes you quite the treasure. " He looks over at Kai with a nod and a wink. "Got yerself a keeper here, my friend. Your crew better be careful or I may try to steal her away from you." Ribmatt looks at Fey with a smile. "Though, with the whole missus thing looming over me, that would be difficult."

Cefey had the right of it, they had no solid plans as of yet. He offered the twi'lek a smile before beginning a simple breakfast, of eggs, bacon, toast, and sliced fruit.

"Oh I know." Kai replied to Ribmatt with a soft chuckle. "And we certainly will be careful, we plan to keep her around as long as she wants to stay." They would never force her into staying though.

"Uhh..." for a moment it seemed a little awkward to her, but... well, Kai wouldn't joke around with that sort of stuff, or laugh if he thought Ribmatt was serious, so she chuckled a little bit too. "Yeah, I don't think your lady would be too happy about that. And she don't seem like a lady you'd like to cross too many times. And I don't think we'd like more intrusions here either like what happened the other day."

Makes you wonder why they're still married though.

"I'm sure she'll find a way to brighten your days?"

"We haven't really spoken much since I arrived here." He gives a deep shrug. "Plus she isn't one to go seeking out all for that sort of stuff. Stubborn as a Nerf, that woman. Plus likely to stab you in the back as she is to pat it." Looking on, he stares into nothingness for a few moments. "Just better to put that whole matter to bed, unfortunately. She ain't changing after this long, while I always adapt."

Fey raised an eyebrow, as she wasn't quite sure if she should ask what he meant about 'putting that matter to bed'. Not that she would fault the guy too much if he wanted to leave his wife... plenty of guys had made bad decisions in their youthful indiscretions that they regretted later.

"Well, I wish you best of luck with that. Marriage sounds like a tedious thing, to be honest."

"Is she really 95?" Kai asked, he remembered Ribmatt saying something about that after all. Though he might of said 85. Either way it was old.

"I mean if not, I might suggest you two try having a kid, or something. I heard that sort of thing can save a relationship..." He smirked. "Course you likely know more about that sort of thing then me."

"No...she's about my age. At least I think they age like us humans." He shook her head with a small laugh. "And no amount of children is going to fill the rift we have together." He looks down at his hand. "When you've gone thru what we've gone thru against one another, I wouldn't know where to start."

At the mention of marriage, he gives a large shrug. "It wasn't so bad at first, I think. Marriage is hard, but the feelings of being there for one another are important. But...priorities change, I suppose. And then she cut me off."

"I don't think there is a huge difference in aging..." not that she had looked it up, but she couldn't recall anything about it.

She did feel a little pity for him. Mostly because Vida had left a pretty bad impression on her while Dartris had not.

Rising from her seat and moving towards the bar, she stopped beside him to place a hand on his shoulder. "Sounds like you're having a rough time. Sure you dont want that drink?"
