Noventa - A Star Wars Story

Using the workbench available in the spaceport, Fey got to work on that scramble key she had acquired the other day. It still worked, but it wasn't quite working to its full potential, she knew... besides, with the situation being what it was now, it would be best to make sure she had all the tools at her disposal in tip-top shape. As always, she was working to music, her hips swaying a little side to side to the rythm.

It was the first time without Zerra in her mind. Well, without her being explicitly recorded in her mind. Jelna kept her anxiety down and walked out to the spaceport. With Cefey in view, at least she had a familiar face to rely on.

"Mornin' Honey," she said nonchalantly. She looked around idly and then smirked. "Ya realize ya put on quite a show with those hips of yours, right?" The blonde shrugged playfully. "Could just be me though. Sometimes I notice a bit too much."

Fey did a dramatic turn that looked more fit to be on the dancefloor than something done in overalls. "Good morning, babe," she grinned back. "Oh, I know. Music just puts me in a better mood." That and keeping her hands and head busy with work also helped.

"Didn't know you were so easily drawn to my hips though," she blew Jelna a kiss for fun.

"My eyes always tend to wander," Jelna smirked. She walked closer to look at what her crew member was working on. A bit quieter, she said, "Sweetie knew they did, but she knew I wasn't the sort to go further than that."

"I know," Fey murmured with understanding. Those two had seemed so genuine with eachother. "It's ok to look - window-shopping I suppose you could call it," she chuckled a bit and picked up the scrambler key she had been fixing up.

"This might prove handy in the future."

Jelna sighed softly. Her eyes weren't something she was proud of but it was part of her background. After all, the outline of a person's rear could reveal a hidden weapon or something of the like. "Definitely," Jelna agreed. Scrambler keys were among many things she had gotten used to confiscating back in the Imperial days. "Not sure if we'll need it here anytime soon but we could always use more tech."

Fey didn't really think about such things most of the time - but that is why Jelna was good at that part of the job.

"Yup. I picked it up at a... hmm... reasonable price, for this place, the other day. It just needed some fixing up since there seemed to be some malfunctions in it that could've potentially triggered alarms. But it should work fine now. Besides, considering how hard it is to find one of these, I considered it a pretty good deal," she said with some pride. "So... I guess the time here hasn't been a complete waste?"

"Learned more 'bout ourselves. That ain't a waste at all, even if I'm not really happy 'bout the truth." Jelna smiled softly and looked around. "Maybe we'll find some good real estate here. If not, there are always more planets."

"Hmm... Imps do drag down the worth of a neighbourhood though," Fey said thoughtfully, glancing up as if she could see the flagship briefly. "Why does the truth bother you so much, by the way?"

Jelna shook her head. "That ain't true at all. Ya should check your prejudice," she said, deadpan. She looked over the shoulder for any passerby stormtroopers.

When she was satisfied, she relaxed her posture. "Ya know me, Honey. The truth was right in front of me the whole time and I missed it for all these years."

The twi'lek chuckled at the deadpan delivery.

"Missed it, or just didn't look at it from a new perspective?" Fey offered, taking a seat on the workbench. "I just thought it was all natural, that it was just something I had because I was just good at what I do. Now I know why it is, and it feels... I don't know, better? Like things make more sense?"

"My specialty is lookin' at things from a variety of perspectives. It is why I was so good at my job." Jelna leaned against the workbench with a grim expression. "Send a thug, he'll toss up the place, lookin' where he'd think to hide. Under the bed, behind somethin'. But when you're lookin' for somebody truly desperate, well, you can find them just about anywhere.

"So yes, a lack of perspective is bad for me. I shared your beliefs and now I'm shaken."

Fey reached over and placed a hand on the short woman's shoulder. "None of us are infallible, babe."

"Besides, you don't have to be alone in this discovery. We're in this together, right?"

"Of course. I just wish Zerra was here for it too." Jelna swallowed the lump in her throat and looked around a bit more for passerby spies or troopers. "I'll be conductin' some surveillance." She paused, disappointed by the Imperial accent from that last word. "Ya know, I don't know what other word I'd use there. Sleuthin' around? I can't say."
