(D7 MM) Survival of the Fittest

Jelna walked back aboard her ship and tapped loudly on the interior as she walked through to get everyone's attention. It was perhaps a bit undignified to do so but her return was an urgent enough matter to get her crew to speak to her immediately.

She headed over to her caf machine and began brewing a pot. She was definitely tired from the experience but there was no way she was going to accept caf from that Inquisitor. She brewed her own lot in life.

Fey had been checking up on things in the engine room as the sound came, and at first she was worried that it was something wrong. So she grabbed her guns as she followed the sound which... sounded like it came from the kitchen.

Seeing the captain, Fey felt overwhelmed with emotions and nearly burst out in tears, and she quickly ran up to Jelna for a hug. "I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry..."

Well, that was a relief. Kai smiled at the sight of the Captain along with the Twi'lek giving her a hug as he came upon the scene. Though he didnt immediately approach, instead making his way to the fridge.

"Breakfast?" He asked as he opened the door. Jelna could probably do with a decent meal after all.

The captain blinked and stood there, motionless, for a few moments before pulling in Cefey for a deeper hug. It wasn't her favorite thing to give hugs to anyone besides Zerra, despite her usage of them out in public, but given the circumstances, it seemed necessary. And it felt nice too. "Well, part of me wants to say, "I told ya so,' but it's all good. Surprisin'ly so, actually."

She looked over at Kai and nodded. "I reckon breakfast would do nicely. Didn't want to take anythin' from the Imperials up there. Then I'd feel obliged to them."

"They didn't hurt you, did they?" she pulled back to look at Jelna, almost as if checking to see if any of those pretty locks of hair had been damaged. There seemed to be more of an edge to it, like she would personally exact vengeance if they had.

"No, when I really would have expected them to." Jelna gave Cefey a few pats. "Just wanted to talk, apparently. But we have a bit of heat on us now."

Seeing and hearing she was ok, Fey relaxed visibly even if the guilt was still there.

The talk of breakfast spurred a rumble from her stomach, reminding her she hadn't eaten today either. "Breakfast sounds good. So uhm... what heat you mean, apart from the Imperial occupation?"

"Well, that's what I'm referin' to. The Inquisitor took an interest in me, so I suppose we aren't goin' to just completely fly off their radar."

"Oh..." Fey bit her lower lip, though this time it was more out of worry than trying to be alluring.

"So... what do we do about that?"

"Not sure. I reckon we can't take her in a straight fight." Jelna looked between the two. For a moment, she considered telling them that they were taking off, but she held that thought back. "She's here because of the Force or whatever. Can't deny its existence now with everythin' that's happenin'. My instincts tell me it'd be a bad idea if she had free reign over it."

She then sighed. "On the other hand, I doubt she'd be wipin' out all life in the universe if she became some mega-powerful figure. Might not matter what we do."

Kai kept quiet as the two women chatted about forcey stuff, busing himself preparing breakfast for the trio. They could probably all use a bit of food after the trouble they had over the last few days, and meals with good friends, family could be quite healing. "So the notion I'm getting is you think we should leave, while the leaving is good." He offered after a few thoughtful moments.

"That is what I want to do," Jelna admitted. She separated from the hug after giving Cefey a couple more pats on the back. Her posture then straightened, partly to appear confident to them but mostly to steady herself for her next decision. "My instincts are telling me we ought to stay, though. I can't say why 'cause I don't quite understand it myself."

Her composure wavered as she lifted a finger preemptively for any tears. "Besides, I think that's what Zerra would want us to do."

Now that the hug from Cefey was done it was time to surprise the captain with another hug, as Kai stepped away from the stove to wrap the blonde in his arms. "If your instincts are in any way related to this force stuff, I think they are shit." He offered giving Jelna a firm squeeze before letting her go and returning to the stove. "If you are wanting to do this for Zerra though, I'm on board. Just know if things get too dangerous I'll tie all three of you up and fly out of this damn place myself." Fuck cryptic warnings, jobs, and anything else that could try and make them stay.

"It's..." Fey hesitated, not sure about what was the best decision either, but right not she felt she trusted Jelna more than herself. "... I agree. It might be better to not leave just yet." Even if she did want to.

"I don't like the idea of the Empire using this place to get back up on their feet. Then we're running away from even more if they become fight-worthy again."

Jelna shrugged. "Well, Force stuff or not, they're definitely up to no good. And while I think I could get away with rejoinin' them if they came back, I don't know if that'd go over well with Cefey." She looked Kai over and smirked. "Or Kai, for that matter."

That earned a nod of agreement. Whatever was going on, it was bad, Force or not. Though taking out the Inquisitor would probably not be bad...

"I'd rather not see you return to that life, babe..." Zerra wouldn't like it either. "You're too good for them. But pretending, to get the upper hand on them? That I'll support."

Cefey's thoughts mirrored Kai's and he offered a nod. "Honey is right about that. We're all too good for them." Going back was simply not an option.

"Even if Lena wants a dapper uniform to wear when she pikots." He paused thoughtfully. "Maybe we should take a vote on one..."

"Speaking of voting... uh, maybe we should bring the captain up to speed on things?" Fey looked to Kai.

"That would likely be wise." Kai agreed with a nod. A lot of things had happened since she went missing after all.
