A New Frontier (D0, Night)

The spaceport bustled with activity even as the night began to wear on deeper into the late hours. Amidst the hustle and bustle a Zeltron woman stood talking with a trader over a couple of speeder bikes. The Toydarian didn't appear to be receptive to the conversation and a lot of frustrated hand-waving towards the Zeltron was taking place. While many Zeltrons would tend to lean on the ostentatious side... this Zeltron was cool and practiced in her movements. Eventually the pair of them came to some sort of an agreement and a handshake was exchanged. The Toydarian flew off to deal with another customer as the woman hefted her bag up onto her shoulder and moved over towards an unoccupied bench.

The woman began quietly filtering through her backpack for a few moments before finding a small object and pulling it out... She looked up and leaned back on the bench, taking in the view for a moment while fiddling with the small object in her hand subconsciously.

It was an interesting exchange especially so late in the evening, and Kai had made note of it. Not that he was staring or anything, but it was a good idea to watch ones surroundings. He'd just finished shopping himself, getting a few things for the next days meal, and after a bit of hesitation decided to make his way over.

"Evening." He offered politely. "That Toydarian, certainly looks like the type to drive a hard bargain. I suppose that's pretty common among them though."

The woman looked up to the newcomer and nodded, "Yeah... hard to find a good speeder that can go to some of the more exotic places on this planet without twisting some wings."

"I'd imagine so." Kai offered with a nod, bringing a hand up to run it through his hair. "I'm still new here, but it looks like parts of this place can be pretty damn bad."

"I'm Kai, by the way." He finished, extending his hand in greeting."

She returned with a hand extension of her own and shook his hand firmly. "Leosha. Pleasure to meet you Kai."

She then released his hand and asked, "So what brings you to Noventa?"

"Looking for work." He replied with a shrug. "This seemed to be as good a place as any to find some." Kai offered with a easy smile.

"Time will tell if it was a good choice. What about you? Local? Or just passing through?"

"Been local for a little while now. I'm a hunter of sorts... both people and big game." She replied.

"Business good?" He asked raising an eyebrow. At the very least it might mean competition for jobs. St the worse... Well, Jelna could worry about that.

“Depends. Tends to be seasonal. For both sentients and beasts.”

"Mmm..." He nodded in understanding, there was likely more then one reason she was being a bit vague. "So, any other time of work besides bounties, and hunting around here? If you dont mind me prying a bit more."

She looked up slightly, "Depends on what you're willing to do and what you're good at I suppose. Plenty of petty crime bosses here and there always lookin' for an extra gun. Bars need tenders. Courier jobs run a decent game too..."

She tilted her head slightly, "So what you got in mind?"

"Nothing too long term." Which dropped at least a few of the suggestions off the table. "Not really looking to put down roots here."

"Courier jobs might not be so bad." Kai said after a moment. "Im pretty decent with a blaster if it comes down to it."

"Anyone in particular you know to talk to for that sort of thing?"

"There's a bar I frequent from time to time called '12 Parsecs from Nowhere.' Guy who runs the joint has his ear to the ground on a lot of those kind of things. He goes by the name of Cal." She replied.

"Thanks." Kai offered the woman a friendly smile. "I'll have to check it out." Though another night would probably be a better time for that. "I'll owe you a drink too if I spot you there. For the advice."

"Sounds like a plan." She said with a nod. "You got a place to stay and all, right?"

"Yeah, the ship i came in on." He replied.

"Unless you know someplace nice a fellow might get a room at?" He raised an eyebrow. "Ship quarters can be a bit cramped."

"I know a few places. Some safer than others." She replied with a tilt in her shoulders.

"You want me to try and track something down for ya?"

"Nah." He waved a head dismissively.

"It's nothing too important honestly, wouldn't want to bother you with something like that. I figure if I stay for a bit I'll find some good places anyways. Just need to look around for em."

She nodded for a moment and then tilted her head, "Never did find all that great a spot that fit my needs here in town. I end up camping out on my own more often than not when I'm here to be honest. But, there are lots of folks who enjoy this type of existence. Maybe you're one of them."

"Camping?" He shrugged. "I dont mind it. If you're referring to the town itself though."

The tall man paused thoughtfully. "I'd have to say I prefer not to make waves, and it's easy to makes waves in a place like this."
