Is this where they keep the housewares? [D5, EA Warehouse]

Postby Quinn Largo » Mon Oct 22, 2018 3:11 pm

Quinn approached the warehouse holding Cal's datapad, along with an umbrella. She occasionally swiped or tapped her fingers across it as she walked, looking at various complicated charts and spreadsheets. Truth told, none of it meant a damn thing to her. Which was okay, it was just a prop anyway; to help make her look like she actually had a purpose in being there. She'd also tried to clean up her image a little, make herself seem a bit less like a child. Straightened her back too; she was meant to look like a professional!

With that look down, she walked straight toward the entrance, paying absolutely no mind to any guards that might be there. Important people never did.

The guards were bustling out there during this time, focusing on their duties as you walk around. As it is a sort of public area around the buildings, your actions does not immediately draw any sort of attention to them. There are a few eyes on you wondering why you are there, but nothing confrontational in their actions: just keeping a eye on the small person walking past.

They are once again donning their thermal cloaks to deal with the weather, in much better spirits than yesterday for sure. They are once again wearing their thick clothes and have their weapons at the side to not draw too much attention to themselves. Other than that, nothing really stands out.

So far so good. Quinn continued on, right to the front door. Putting her hand on it and opening it.

Unless of course, the guards decided to stop her.

And thus did they trigger on it. "W-wait. Hold on." He paused, looking at the little one, finally realizing they had a job to do. "Hold on, you can't just w-walk up here and do that. W-who are you and w-what are you doing here?" There is a move to his sidearm, but nothing moving threatening.

She looked up from her datapad, up at the stammering guard. A raised eyebrow, like she was confused and a tad annoyed by being interrupted.

"I'm here to inspect your operation of course. Surely you've been briefed about the possibility of a surprise visit. If we're going to be working with you then my family needs to know you operate this place to the most exacting of specifications. Hence why they've sent me here. To make sure."

Quinn tapped the datapad a few times, bringing up a fake schedule; which wasn't explicitly shown to the guard, but she held the datapad in a manner where he might glance at it.

"We're on a tight schedule here."

The guard looked rather shocked about the whole ordeal. "W-wait a moment! I got to call this in." He looked rather unnerved about the whole ordeal, but would not allow her to enter the building so easily. Grabbing his commlink on his hand, he fumbles with it for a few moments as he attempts to get it out. It really seems as if he was not prepared for this sort of thing.

She rolled her eyes, and played up the haughty angle. Important people talked down to low level guards and the like, after all.

"Oh for god's sake man, do you people check everything five times over? We've gone over this at length already, and any more delays will impact work on our new distribution pipeline. But, since you're clearly uncomfortable with all of this, how about you just accompany me inside and be the one to show me around. That way you can tell your bosses how diligent an employee you are, and I can make my next appointment without delay. I'm sure your colleague here can handle the daunting task of keeping out the rain by himself."

Charm, let me in this warehouse.: 3eP+1eA+1eD+1eC+1eS 3 successes, 1 advantage, 1 Despair

He looked over at his fellow guard walking and shrugged. "I mean, she ain't wrong.." The other guard rolled his eyes and looked down at the young girl. "Just...just take her in Fitz and show her around, I'll call it in and get it organized. Just keep a sharp eye on her till we get the all clear." The man identified at Fitz nods his head and looks down at her. "Just follow me and stay close. W-Wouldn't want you to get lose there Miss..." He pauses, realizing that he had not gotten a name yet.

"Excellent," she said, ignoring the implied question.

Not excellent! Damn it...

She ignored the sense of unease she had at the fact the other one was calling it in; and carried onward.

"Then please, show me inside."

He already was not starting to like this, but allowed himself to be taken in while the other guard got on his comm and reported the situation in.

Inside warehouse, it is dry. Already a stark improvement than the rain you just left. It's also a pretty wide open area, looking to be, if you had to guess, about 3 stories tall. A few windows to come in and go. It is dimly lit for when you enter, but the guard moves over to a switch and powers the room up. Within moments, the lights are on and you can take in the room a bit more. Seeing several crates of items, some more distinctive about their contents than others. It's a lot of space to carve thru in what may be end up being a short visit.

"Alright, w-where do you w-want to start, Miss?"

"Let's start with the security room. I assume you have one. And if you could, while we walk, give me a quick rundown on the operations here."

His eyes widen at it. "W-Well, sure. Though it's done mostly offsite." He looked at her oddly, wondering why she didn't know that, but for now allows it to slip by. He goes back to the door you just left out of, passing the guard who was still communicating with security about your arrival, and you walk a bit out in the rain for a few moments. "W-We do regular patrols of our facility, patrolling the outside of the building once a hour. W-We also have a few motion sensors inside of the building itself to detect if movement is passed. It sends a signal to our base every time it's passed thru. Other than that, w-we always try to at least keep 6 guards on duty at all times during regular business hours and bring in droids during the late night hours to help."

It's not far until you reach a central hub area where security seems to be centralized. It's a decently fortified building, with windows facing all four corners of the area itself. "This is w-where our hub is. They just use it to monitor this and a few of the other w-arehouses. Only ours gets the regular due to the clientele."

"I see," she said, trying to memorize everything that was said; as well as the angles on the security monitors and the locations of any motion sensors. "This seems adequate. What model security droid are you employing? I trust it has adequate bite?"

She started walking back out of the security room, fully expecting him to stammer and follow.

"Let's move on to the secure storage," she said even before receiving an answer to the question of the droid model, trying to steer the 'tour' toward the area she thought the item they were tasked with retrieving was being kept, "I wish to see with my own eyes, you'll understand."

Fitz leads you back into the building once more. The rain was still streaming down, not looking of leaving anytime soon. Still, he leads you back in. "I dunno, couple of RMD-20 patrolling outside and inside the building. Also have some refurbished BX Commandos w-we have in the back as w-well as some old CIS Battle Droids w-we use as backup. Not to mention w-what the boss keeps on hand if needed. Something special. Never seen it myself, but it ain't something w-we take out lest we have to. Fortunately, w-we never have."

You return to the building as the other guard calling it in is waiting for a response, continuing to wave you on in. Within a few moments, you return to the dry warehouse room.

She made a few notes on her datapad, to keep track, then looked up and around. It probably wasn't as easy as just seeing the target datapad just laying around somewhere.

"All of the floors are used for storage? How much capacity do you have? Any special arrangements for top-tier clients?"

"W-Well, this isn't a bank, so w-we don't really have that sort of extreme protection. It's just w-where people store things and w-want that added sense of security." He shrugged, a rather strange question to ask about. "Everything here is important to someone, I suppose, that's w-why we're paid to do our job."

His comm begins to flare up as he leads you around the floor. Listening in on his ear, he stops and looks down. "Miss, they're asking for your name and who you're with."

"The head of security is asking, miss." Fitz look at her directly. "You can speak to them if you w-want, but I can't let you go further w-without a confirmation." He paused for a moment. "He said you can blame him for asking you and it's likely due to the poor network reception right now."

"Poor network reception? Well, if this is how things are run here, perhaps the Largo family will take its business elsewhere. We expect nothing short of *perfection*, and clearly this isn't it."

"Miss, it's not us it's the planet. W-We have no control over the debris field. Makes long range data communication a pain in the ass." He stumbles around for a moment before responding back. "She said she's with the Largo family."

A short pause. "Never heard of them either. Must be off planet."

Another short pause. "Okay." He looked down at her. "Says the tour can continue, but he is calling to confirm it w-with the boss."
