Till & Toil (Day 2 Mid Morn, Farmer's market)

If he had heard about this place sooner, he could of come by earlier to try and do some shopping. Maybe even have taken Fey by shopping hear instead of the bazaar. Sadly he'd only heard about it afterwards, nevertheless he had decided to come by. There was probably no better place to find fresh fruits and veggies then at a Farmer's market, and you could likely find a few other things as well. Like honey, or homemade booze. either of those would likely be pretty popular with the ladies.

Slowly walking the area, he kept his eyes open for anything or anyone who might be of interest.

Not yet time to go to the shuttle, Tew decided to pass some time getting some snacks for her apartment. Nothing fancy, just some fruit and grains like crackers or biscuits.

She walked amongst the stalls with ber holocostume set to 'sundress'.

Twi'leks were by and large a attractive species, and Kai wouldn't lie and say the one that walked by in a lovely sundress didn't cause his head to turn, at least a little. Still it was mostly conversation he was looking for when he dipped his head in her direction.

"Excuse me, Miss. Sorry to bother, but I was wondering if you knew anything about the local specialties that can be here?"

Tew couldn't help herself and couldn't quite hold back a small laugh, "That's funny... I was looking for someone to ask that exact same question."

Which was the truth. "I'm afraid I just arrived here for the first time a day or two ago, so I'm quite unqualified to answer that. Though I wouldn't be against looking for an answer together?"

He was rather handsome, for a human, in that kind of hairy way they had. And his build suggested people would be less likely to cheat her if was near hy. So the sudden suggestion merely seemed like a win-win to her.

"Ah, so we're in the same boat then, as it were." He replied with a light laugh. "I arrived a few days ago myself.

His eyes drifted from the twi'lek to the market. "That sounds like a fine idea to me, could be one of us spots something the other missed." They returned a moment later though, and he offered her a smile.

"I'm Kai by the way."

"Tewzada."

She returned the smile and held a hand out. Though whether to be shook, taken, kissed... well, she supposed that depended where this Kai fellow was from.

Kissing a ladies hand was nice and all, but really a bit much for Kai. "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Tewzada.." He replied as he took her hand gently in his own, turning it and dipping his head in greeting before releasing it.

"Was there a specific kind of item you were looking for? Or should we just see what we can find?"

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

"Myself? I was hoping to find if there were any local fruits that were in season, possibly any local specialty pastries."

She gets back into a relaxed pose as her hand goes back to her side, "Though I'm mostly just looking to get some on the go snacks that aren't some prepackaged junk food. What about yourself?"

[Kai Wryssald]

"Pretty much the same." He replied with a soft chuckle. "Pies were my main interest though, maybe some fresh veggies as well."

He pursued his lips. "Some good fresh baked bread might be nice as well though."

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

"Pies? Oh my~ I suppose I could treat myself... I quite fancy citrus pies, personally."

She finds herself lost in thought a moment before coming to and clearing her throat, "Ahem... I mean, of course, you can get whatever sort of pies you wish. Ignore my ramblings, if you want to~"

"Well, no harm seeing what they have." Kai replied thoughtfully. "I'm pretty open to all kinds of pie, so could be I buy a couple." He had crew members to share with after all, Jelna would likely try to sneak off with half of one all on her own. He raised up trying to get a better look at the area around them.

"I think I see a likely place for some over there." He replied after a moment, indicating a stand a short distance away.

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

"Oh, good eye. Well sir, lead the way then; I brought plenty of cred chips, so I think I'll definitely get something if there's anything interesting."

She couldn't quite spy what he was looking at, but something certainly smelled nice around here, anyways.

"Well, no reason in being a bit tall if you arent going to use it for anything." Kai replied with a easy smile as he began to lead his way over.

It wouldn't be long before they arrived at a place selling homemade pastries of various kinds, as well as various fresh fruits and hams. "Seems like we found the place." He offered as he looked back towards the Twi'lek.

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

Tew gave a slight nod, still smiling, "Mmmmm... I could tell when we were getting close by the smell; Nothing in the universe smells quite like fresh baked goods."

Back home, on the city world, she'd never had much fresh baked stuff in the orphanage. Not to imply that they didn't take care of the kids there; There were three square meals a day. But it was mostly hand me down food even, local donations and government subsidies. The place was certainly too small, low budget, and short staffed to afford any sort of full time cooking staff though, or anyone skilled. Just simple fare, maybe some reheated stuff; Good for filling a lot of bellies.

This meant Tew's eyes were kind of sparkling as she took everything in, despite it being nothing terribly fancy. Her eyes were mostly on the fruit pies that sat in a clear warming case up front.

"I think I'll take things in first before I make any buying decisions."

For strangely similar reasons to the Twi'lek, Kai was quite happy for the discovery himself, though the orphanage he was from was in a much more rural location, and freshly made goods weren't all that unusual. It was the fact that they sold much of the best of what they had grown, and the cream of the crop wasn't something they often got to taste. Taking a moment to savor the scent, a content smile made it's way onto his lips.

"Take your time, Miss Tewzada." He replied simply. "I'm in no rush myself."

She gave a nod, glancing at him, before looking back to the pies. Soon, she found herself buying a set of tiny fruit pies, each small enough to fit into her hand.



One citrus cream, one berry, and one a dried fruit and nut one. As she took the bag from the merchant, she looked around to see what Kai was up to.

Kai was buying full sized pies, one a berry pie, another some sort of citrus. then there was the jams and jellies he was looking into. As Kai felt Tewzada's eyes land on him he turned her way and offered a sheepish smile.

"If I don't bring enough back for the crew, it will make for a uncomfortable evening." He said with a soft chuckle.

Tew couldn't hold back a giggle, "Fortunately, it's just me and my droid going on the assignment, and AC doesn't eat pie. So I can pack light. Hopefully your crew appreciates the thoughtfulness."

"Usually." They might even stop and say thanks. "that is if the ladies don't glare at me and excuse me of trying to ruin their diets or something." the later part seemed more like good-natured teasing then anything.

"Sounds like you are here on business though?" He asked as he turned back towards the counter, he was mildly curious but not interested in prying too much.

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

"Mmm, that's right; Have a couple assignments to cover here as part of work. Something about pod races, a gala, some government speech... Nothing huge, but it pays the bills."

Tew made sure everything was secure in her bag as she talked, "Anyways, if they give you too much trouble, just tell them not to eat it all at once. Though I've always thought more fruit is more good, no matter the form, no?"
