Till & Toil (Day 2 Mid Morn, Farmer's market)

[Kai Wryssald]

"A gala?" That caused a raised eyebrow from the human. "Didn't think they'd have something like that on someplace as backwater as this." Who in the world would even come? He shook his head, it really didn't matter much either way.

"By the sound of it, you're a reporter then?" Kai asked after another moment, apparently not too interested in the gala she mentioned.

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

She gave a shrug before picking out a couple pieces of fruit, "No clue, on who would go; Just some event being held out in Providence tomorrow. I'm pretty certain on the information I got that those invited are supposed to be pretty exclusive, in one way or another. Not that I got an invite."

Finished with the food, she turned more fully to him, "But you're right about my profession. And where there's lots money and closed doors, there's often something worth reporting on. So I'll get in if I can."

[Kai Wryssald]

"Mmm." He shook his head. "I think I'll leave the gala business to the pretty reporters myself." It seemed out of his league at the very least.

"I hope you get to have at least a little fun at it though, and its not all business."

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

"Hm. Suppose that depends on what it's actually like; Could be anything from boring people standing around in overpriced clothes eating overpriced food, to people letting themselves go with narcotics and strippers. You never can tell where the private whims of a rich person lie, especially when you know little about them, like I do with this 'Vida' character. That just makes me more curious though."

"I don't think either of those are quite my scene." Kai replied with a shake of his head. "I'd rather meet a lady over a meal then see her dancing half naked on a table." Not that he didn't enjoy naked women or anything. "Maybe I'll watchyour report on it though, See what I might of missed?"

His eyes went back to browsing the stall, but it seemed he was mostly done shopping here at the very least.

Fruit obtained, Tew was done here as well. Everything bagged up, she motioned to the exit before starting out.

"Well, I always appreciate more viewers. But, I suppose I shouldn't count my Credits before the transfer, as it were. There might not be a story there. They might not even let me in without an invitation."

She chuckled softly, "Anyways... that's for tomorrow. I should probably concentrate on today. At least there I know I have something lined up, rather than me trying to sneak in to some place, as it were."

"Something lined up?" He raised an eyebrow. "I guess that means you have an important interview later?" At least that's what it sounded like.

There was a few moments pause as he finished packing up his own things. "I'm not keeping you from it? Am I?"

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

A light chuckle, "No no... I have everything scheduled out; The shuttle doesn't leave for another hour and a half. That's why I'm getting snacks, remember? Still, I don't know that it's anything particularly important; I'm off to interview some pod racer that's having a winning streak down south here. Causing a bit of a stir in the local racing community. So I'm not sure how big time that is."

"I suppose that depends on who you ask really." Kai said after a moment. "It's likely really important to a pod racing enthusiast. Others? Probably less so" He paused into another stall that looked to be selling various forms of veggies. "I still think it's pretty neat though. I've never really ever met a Champion pod-racer. "

There was a thoughtful pause. "Makes me wonder if they are like most other people."

"That's what these person pieces are for really, cause a lot of people want to know that same thing. People like knowing that racers and stars and heroes all have struggles and quirks like the rest of us, in addition to learning what makes them tick."

Tew paused when Kai did; She had enough snacks, even if the veggies were kinda tempting.

[Kai Wryssald]

"Nothing like fresh veggies." Kai explained as he shot a smile at the Twi'lek woman. His own shopping list was a bit bigger then hers., sharing was carign after all.

"But I suppose that makes sense, when you stop to think of it." He mused selecting a few different vegetables as he spoke. "Have you got to meet a lot of celebrities over your career? Or do you usually do different kinds of pieces?" A brief pause. "If I'm not prying too much."

"Different kinds of things really. I mean, I've met a few athletes and actors and politicians in the year I've been a reporter so far. But you need all sorts of stories to fill in a news cast, unfortunately. I wish I had the clout to choose my assignments, really."

She waited patiently with her hands behind her back, watching him choose veggies.

He didnt take long, not seeming to want to make the lady wait. At least not wait too long. "I imagine that would be nice." Kai mused as he packed up his new purchases.

"I suppose that's something to look forward to in the future though. Getting to pick your assignments, maybe even a kid planets like this altogether?"

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

That got a chuckle, "Oh come now, it's not so bad out here; Some pleasant nature, slower pace, fresh food... I suppose it's more the sort of thing I think of for vacation rather than work, sure. Though I'm disappointed about the lack of beaches anywhere even close to the capital here~ Packed my swimsuit and everything."

"That is disappointing." Kair agreed with a half smile. "You;d think at the very least there would be a swimming pool in a fancy hotel or something, but I haven't even been able to find one of those." Not that he would likely pay to stay the night in one regardless. "Only thing they really have of note around here seems to be mountains and forest, and I'd strongly suggest you don't visit the forest."

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

"Not a big fan of forests really, anyways. I mean, don't get me wrong; They can be pretty to look at and all, but actually being in them is kinda underwhelming once you get over that. And then there's all the bugs and poisonous plants and thorns and whatever. Not my thing, I think. Not that there were really any forests back where I grew up, at all."

"They arent completely bad, that is if you have the right company." Kai replied with a half smile. "Well some of them at least. The one here is a nasty piece of work, and you're likely to be hunted if you step foot into it."

"Think I'll try the mountains next if I want to go someplace a bit more scenic." He looked around, finding a stall of interest and walking towards it. "Not many forests where you are from, though?"

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

A small nod, Tew's lekku bobbing slightly, "Yeah. Just a lot of concrete, metal, pipes, and glass. No forests, no mountains, no seas."

A thoughtful pause, "...though I suppose a city-world can have mountains and seas somewhere under all the buildings? Never had a reason or desire to go lower than the slums into the undercity, really."

"Probably..." Kai mused, arriving at a stall selling fresh bread. "Can't say I'd want to go look either though. Something about all that building on top of it makes me think they would be less then pleasant "

"Not sure I'd even want to see a rust colored ocean." It sounded somewhat depressing.

[Tewzada Star'Ti]

A light chuckle, "You're right; That doesn't sound like the most pleasant trip at all. Still, it does make me curious. I'm no egghead, so I don't think I need to know how everything works or anything like that. But the reporter in me wonders if relics or smuggling rings or such hidden in such out of the way places, you know?"
