"Ha. Ha. A treat. Good one, boss." This -- a harsh blatting over his vocoder speaker -- was Clementine's normal way of expressing actual amusement, not sarcasm.
He stands there another moment, but instead of going back to distributing kegs, he stands another moment longer, framing a slightly more complex thought than his usual. "Speaking of treats," he says, "I have found a job. You know that big fancy ship that landed in the plains." It's not a rhetorical question, Clementine is just asserting his boss knows something that he knows, which is usually pretty safe to assume. "They were on the comm asking for bounty hunters and mer-sen-air-eez. I thought I could get paid for clobbering someone, so I went.
"There was someone named Lena, and someone named Maguire, and someone named Sailee, and someone named Kai, and another lady, and a lot of guards. Oh, wait, I said that wrong." He paused, sorting it out in his head. It sometimes took a while, but couldn't be helped.
Eventually, he nodded to himself (a full-body bob), and continued. "Maguire was the lady with the other lady and the lots of guards. She was very fancy and used big words. It was her ship. She was offering the job." Another nod. "Lena and Kai were part of a bigger crew, they said. They didn't like the job so they left." Another nod. "Sailee was a licensed hunter. She was nice. She and Maguire liked each other. She took the job." Another nod. "But she's not good at the part where you talk to people. So I said I knew a guy." He spread his loading arms wide, taking in most of the room, but Kaneesa was at the center of the wide arc. "You're the guy!"
He held the pose, clearly very happy with his presentation. He has not actually said what the job is.
