Breakfast was almost ready, but it could wait a little while, putting the panda to the side and covering them, Kai moved from the kitchen.

"I'll go grab him then." He offered as he moved towards the cell.

"Yes, Cal." He nodded his head as if a reply. "He's quite the interesting fellow, I'd say." He grins. "Well, in my sort of work, you either 'get' it or you 'get' yours." Taking a deep breath, he places his caf down. "Maybe someday I'll tell you how I lost my arms...it's quite the of a tale, I'd say. But, until then, I won't hold you up any longer than I need to. Time to let the dog out of his cage."

"Cal, huh," she was a bit surprised to hear that the seemingly goody-two-shoes lawman was that involved with someone like Dartris. But she supposed this world made for strange bedfellows.

"Hope your boss gets that wakeup call then. Stagnation isn't good for anyone," Fey agreed with a nod and held up her cup of caf for an impromptu toast. "Best of luck."

Kai nodded, he wasn't really good at this cloak and dagger sort of thing, and that's what they were talking about. Sometimes it was nice to be just the muscle and not expected to say anything wise or intelligent.

"To the next job, then." He raised his caf and smiled.

He nods. "Nah, he won't trust me for awhile. It will just be a lot more of what you got to see the other day, suspecting little ol' me of doing it. Searching all of my places, finding whatever they can and where I was, who can validate me, et cetera. " He shook his head. "Happy it happened, though. Maybe now he can focus less on me and more on his own job. If someone were to break in to somewhere like that, it means he's slipping. Why I hired Cal and his crew a few days back. See the problems I couldn't see. Stagnation is quite the problem with his types. Growing ever comfortable but never adapting. Maybe that will give him a wake-up call."

Or some upstart decides to kill him while he's weakened. Always possible with these things.

Which meant probably she and Jelna would check it out, as the one with the most mechanical understanding and the other with experience in how 'varmints' would trap their stuff.

"Well, apart from the hiccups from the Imps showing up and unexpected guests in general, it's another finished job now," she casually took another sip of caf. "Shame about your boss though. He'll be keeping you busy it seems?"

"I'll keep that in mind. Not the type of guns I usually use, but I'll have them checked out before ant of us use them." Though they might just sell them.

"Cant be too careful after all."

"No, but considering that it's either that or a coffin, I'm sure he'll manage somehow to accept it for a few days." Sipping his caf, he looks on. "Though word is my boss is busy with other things right now. Someone was foolish enough to try to break into his private vaults. Last guy I met who tried to do that lost both his arms." A few beats passed before he spoke. "No, it wasn't me. I lost them long before I even met that crazy bastard."

At the mention of his weapons, he gives a shrug and a confused look. "I'm assuming they're not sentimental. So keep them, if you want. Though, I'd make sure to give it a good look thru before you think of using them. He tends to be quite...paranoid."

"A crate doesn't really sound too comfortable." Kai agreed after a few moments.

"What do you want us to do with his things? Those blasters he had on him and everything else?" They had them locked away, but they hadn't sold them yet. They didn't know what Mister Ribmatt had in store for the man after all.

Ribmatt gives it a few moments thoughts and shrugs. "I am known to be a convincing sort of person when I want to do. The right touch at the right time is always important for my line of work. Also helps to let their imagination do the work for them." He chuckles as the caf is placed before him, sipping it quietly. "Guarantee you, they will think of something far worse than you ever could."

He's been cooped up in there for a few days now, he can last a few more moments." Looking on. "Besides, he's served his purpose, I suppose. Let him enjoy the cell before I throw him in a crate for a few more days."

She gave Kai an appriciative smile as he gave her the mug of liquid black gold. "Thank you, Darling."

The first caf of the day was given a hearty gulp, followed by a quiet sigh of bliss as she took in the flavor of it. "Hmm... so, well, our guest hasn't been a problem. I'd say your words of advice to him did the trick. Do you wish to speak to him some more before we let him out or...?"

The Kaf machine was in fine working order, and it didnt need to fear threats of torture or a slow death from their Captain anymore. Pouring three cups, one in his usual another in Cefey's, the last was poured into the guest cup, which depicted a cartoon dog flopped on top of his home.

"Here you go." He offered the cups to Cefey and Ribmatt. "Food will be ready shortly, Honey."

"I can imagined. Caf will be ready soon," she looked to Kai. At least there shouldn't be anymore trouble with the machine after Jelna was banned from fixing it.

"Regardless of what we decide to do, we probably won't leave right away. If there's anything else we might be of use for that pays, well, we're here for a little bit more."

"Not today, I think. Just caf will do for now. As I said, I try not to drink when I have buisness. Unfortunately there is plenty for me to do today."

"I don't think there is a huge difference in aging..." not that she had looked it up, but she couldn't recall anything about it.

She did feel a little pity for him. Mostly because Vida had left a pretty bad impression on her while Dartris had not.

Rising from her seat and moving towards the bar, she stopped beside him to place a hand on his shoulder. "Sounds like you're having a rough time. Sure you dont want that drink?"

"No...she's about my age. At least I think they age like us humans." He shook her head with a small laugh. "And no amount of children is going to fill the rift we have together." He looks down at his hand. "When you've gone thru what we've gone thru against one another, I wouldn't know where to start."

At the mention of marriage, he gives a large shrug. "It wasn't so bad at first, I think. Marriage is hard, but the feelings of being there for one another are important. But...priorities change, I suppose. And then she cut me off."

"Is she really 95?" Kai asked, he remembered Ribmatt saying something about that after all. Though he might of said 85. Either way it was old.

"I mean if not, I might suggest you two try having a kid, or something. I heard that sort of thing can save a relationship..." He smirked. "Course you likely know more about that sort of thing then me."

Fey raised an eyebrow, as she wasn't quite sure if she should ask what he meant about 'putting that matter to bed'. Not that she would fault the guy too much if he wanted to leave his wife... plenty of guys had made bad decisions in their youthful indiscretions that they regretted later.

"Well, I wish you best of luck with that. Marriage sounds like a tedious thing, to be honest."

"We haven't really spoken much since I arrived here." He gives a deep shrug. "Plus she isn't one to go seeking out all for that sort of stuff. Stubborn as a Nerf, that woman. Plus likely to stab you in the back as she is to pat it." Looking on, he stares into nothingness for a few moments. "Just better to put that whole matter to bed, unfortunately. She ain't changing after this long, while I always adapt."

"Uhh..." for a moment it seemed a little awkward to her, but... well, Kai wouldn't joke around with that sort of stuff, or laugh if he thought Ribmatt was serious, so she chuckled a little bit too. "Yeah, I don't think your lady would be too happy about that. And she don't seem like a lady you'd like to cross too many times. And I don't think we'd like more intrusions here either like what happened the other day."

Makes you wonder why they're still married though.

"I'm sure she'll find a way to brighten your days?"
