Noventa - A Star Wars Story

"Totally, totally. And hey, lookit this~"

She pressed a button and was suddenly in combat fatigues, "I've got all sorts of things in here, and they react realistically to... yah know, maybe I shouldn't gush more about clothes. I know that can try some people's patience, and we shouldn't just gab in this changing room."

Tew went to leave before suddenly realizing she was in camo, and quickly changed it back before continuing to the register and paying.

Cal's eyebrows went up noticeably as the casual outfit suddenly became a skin-tight bodysuit. His gaze lingered, even as it transformed back into the casual day-wear. He looked back up, meeting her gaze with a smile. "Well. Ain't that something." He said.

Again, his gaze flickered down, then back up. "Well, I can see the use. Especially for a reporter. You're ready for whatever sort of story at a moment's notice."

He smirked, just a little. "Of course, now every time I see you, if you're not wearing one of those three dresses, I'll be wondering if you're wearing what it looks like you're wearing, or a tight black bodysuit. Well..." He shrugged, still smirking. "Maybe a little mystery's a good thing."

A smiling nod followed, "Gotcha. As to your question..."

She clicked a gem on her choker and her jeans and tank top turned into a black bodysuit with a series of flush holo-emitters sewn into it. It was skin tight, tighter than even a bathing suit. And just like that, with a click, she was back to the jean tank top combo.

"Not always the best; Like it's really cold, for instance. But the suit breathes really well, and looks just like the rest of my skin when I have it do that."

Cal snorted. "Professional yet sexy. Huh. Sounds like a real interesting line they're asking you to walk. I've..." He chuckled. "I was about to say I'd never seen a holocostume before, but I guess I might not know if I had. That what you're wearing today?" He wasn't really familiar with the technology.

He smiled as Tew reappeared, but her question made him frown thoughtfully. "Well..." He glanced at his chrono. "Got someone I'm meetin' pretty soon. Heard from Doc that someone needed help, and thought I could provide." He shrugged. "Not a huge rush, if you want company on the walk back." He smirked. "After all, it is on the way."

"A dress code? Well... not precisely. General guidelines though, sure. Supposed to wear something 'professional, yet sexy' they say. You know, to draw in the viewers but still look normal enough in public. Fortunately, I have a holocostume suit, so I can pull up a number of things while still packing relatively light."

The curtain pulled back and Tew was back in her jeans and tank top, three dresses folded over her arm, "So what are you going to do after this?"

Cal gave a little wave of his fingers. "More than happy to oblige. Would that all the favors I did were so easy."

His eyebrows went up a little as she declared she was getting all three, but he shrugged, smiling. "Hey, if you can afford them, great. You looked gorgeous in all of them." Again, he raised his voice as she disappeared into the changing room.

The sounds of rustling fabric from within made him tilt his head. Cal cleared his throat. "Do they have a dress code or something? Make you look a certain way on camera? If they do, seems to me they should let you charge it. Doesn't seem right, otherwise."

"Good good."

Tew put her hands together and nodded, "You've been really helpful with your feedback. Think I'll get all three, in the end. It's within my budget, and they're having an end of summer sale anyways~"

This last part trailed off as Tew closed the curtain once again, the sounds of changing following, "If only I could charge this as a business expense."

Cal's eyes and grin followed Tew as she did her thing. He laughed softly as she did her spin. "Good enough." He said, smirking. "Yeah, that's the dress alright. Suits you to a 'T' if you ask me."

He shook his head, still grinning, his gaze going down and then back up. "I think you'll turn your share of heads and then some at the festival. It's still professional, but... mmm." He nodded. "I say go for it."

Tew chuckled and nodded, doing a little strut across the wood laminated changing room floor, all-be-it in her socks. Still, it felt comfortable to move in, like she thought, so that was a plus.

"Is that good enough?" she asked as she did a little spin, putting her hands behind her back as she dancer's physique flexed and came to a halt finally.

"Huh." Cal said. His frown deepened... well, noticeably to him, anyway. "I don't suppose you found anything." He pursed his lips a moment. "I think there are some dark things here on this planet. Maybe that forest has somethin' to do with 'em."

But that thought was interrupted as Tew reappeared. "Well well, miss Tewzada." Cal said, grinning. "It may be a bit premature of me to say, but I think that may be the one. Fits all your criteria just fine. And yeah, it leaves more to the imagination, but what it doesn't..." His eyebrows went up a little.

He shifted, folding his arms across his chest. "Why don't you walk around a little, give me a better look? Just to be sure."

"You know as much as I do then, even with us going in there; It WAS dark. And like you said, dark dark. Dark where a glow rod and night vision weren't helping much. I wish I could have found more, but I suppose I'm lucky enough to have made it out of there and not gotten lost or whatever. It just makes me think all the more that there's something hidden in there. Some sort of Sith temple or monster or... well, who knows. But forests don't just do that on their own."

"Well, this is certainly a bit more plain, leaves more to the imagination at least?"

She leaned back against the changing room door, "Guess I'm kinda leaving the choice of the three up to you though Cal; I mean, I picked them all out because I liked them, so..."

Cal shrugged before he remembered that she couldn't see him. "Not much." He said, stepping a bit closer and pitching his voice louder. "You'd think a native of the planet would know a bit more, but most of the time we just kept our heads down, attended to practical things."

For a moment, he was silent as he frowned, considering. "The little bit I do know is that it's kinda got a strange reputation. Mysterious. Dangerous. And dark, but not just in that the tree coverage is thick enough that not much light gets in. I mean dark dark." He shrugged again, as much to himself as to his currently out of sight conversation partner. "The sorts of place that people tell ghost stories about."

Tew nodded and went into the changing booth again, her voice coming from inside, "Well, how much do you know about that forest yourself, Cal? Kor said he didn't know much and hadn't ever been out there."

Cal grinned. "Yeah, that sounds like Kor, alright. He's good folk. Looks out for people." After a moment he raised an eyebrow. "Don't suppose you mind [i]me[/i] asking what you were there for."

He nodded agree. "Yeah, probably a good idea." He gave her a smirk. "I'm findin' myself growing more partial to it, too."

That got a snerk out of her, looking back over her shoulder at him, "I can honestly imagine poor Kor following me around at the festival because you asked him to. Did you know he went into Duskeen Forest with me earlier today? I don't think he even knew what we were there for, but he didn't want me going in alone."

She smiled, then looked back down, "...well, let me try the last one on, anyways. Before I grow too partial to this one."

"Well, I don't know." Cal said. "Why don't you turn around, let me see things from that angle?"

He stepped a little closer, about arms-reach, frowning as he studied her. "It's not too bad. A bit see through, but still leaves plenty to the imagination. You did say a bit racy, right?" He shrugged. "You'd definitely draw the eye, but I don't think anyone would get the wrong idea." He smirked. "If anyone does, well, I'd be happy to have a word with 'em. Or my friend Kor could do it."

"You think so?"

Tew looked down at herself, turning her head back and forth, "I mean, I certainly don't mind being a little overdressed and flashy. Then again, it's half see through it seems like, and maybe that would be a bit much?"

This time, Cal had remained standing. And so, when she came back out, he took a little step forward instead. "My, my." He said, grinning at her. "I think this one's even better than the last one. Although a lot of that's you." He smirked.

His eyes traced her figure, both appreciatively and appraisingly. "It is still a bit on the flashy side, though. There's places on Noventa where you can wear it, for sure; there was a party in Providencetown a few nights back where you'd have fit right in. But for the Noventa Festival..." He shrugged.

"Yeah, you're kinda echoing my thoughts there. ...I mean, maybe I'll get this for a cocktail party sometime, but I'd hate to overload my luggage and empty my wallet in one go. ...I'll have to think about it. Regardless, not for tonight. Be right back."

"Well, I wanted to try something less flashy too, but I'm not sure this counts, now that I have it on. Nice and lighter than I thought though."

Properly, Cal rose to his feet as the lady returned. Of course, with that dress, he would have stood up even if he wasn't a gentleman. "Wow." He said appreciatively, his brown eyes glinting at her. "You look gorgeous. This isn't gonna be easy, I can tell already." His gaze traveled appreciatively up and down her form.

Of course, he wasn't just there to ogle her. "It is a bit on the formal side, isn't it?" He said thoughtfully. "Take it from me, the Noventa Day celebrations are pretty casual. Nice, but not too nice. I plan to wear my best vest, but I'm not gonna go all the way to a suit. Maybe that'll help you judge?"
