((No worries, i know the feeling. Will see what we can put together))

Kai returned the wave, before taking his seat again... It looked like they had some sort fo dessert menu after all, and he could cheat a little today.

"Why, thank you." She waves her hand in a vague sort of salute when he rises to see her off. "That would be nice, I admit. Have a good evening yourself, Kai."

And with that, she makes her way toward the till...

((Was getting a little hard for me to keep the headspace of this thread now D7 is staring shortly, but it was fun! Let's do something again later? Whether it's hanging out or having to rescue somebody or whatever. ))

"We'll see." He replied raising to his feet, it was only proper with a lady leaving the table after all. "You have a good day, Doctor. Hopefully it's not too busy of one, and not all your visitors are there for business." That seemed to be a good thing to say to a doctor's office, right?

"Yes, exactly," she says, smiling at him. "Noventa will do for now. Later on, who knows?"

She glances over her shoulder toward the register, where patrons swipe their cards or pay for their meals in the more primitive, untraceable, but also malfunction-proof credit chits that are still the main medium of exchange on Noventa. Not much of a line at the moment.

"I really should be getting on, though. I have a commitment later this evening... if you're on-planet more than a few days, perhaps we'll cross paths again?"

There are likely something there, but he wasn't going to pry, heck in all likelihood the reason had something to do with the empire. The Llady could even be from Aldeeran, not that it was really any of his business. "I suppose I can understand that, it's been quite a time since I've been home as well, and heck with all the planets in the galaxy? Well, you can just find the place that suits you."

"somewhere along the line at the very least."

"Oh, I haven't been back there in years and years." Yara's tone is a little too light. "There'd be nothing much for me to do. And Noventa's quite an interesting place, if you give it some time to grow on you."

"That does sound quite lovely." Even if he wasn't quite sure what a Cartonese was, or whatever the other word she used. Likely some sort of flower like orchards.

"It seems like you miss it though, so why not return to there, then?" Noventa seemed like a big change of pace. "More needing to get away?"

"I've always liked autumn, in temperate climate zones." Yara leans back a little in her own chair, a reflective expression crossing her face for a few moments. "I grew up around orchards, and every planetary year they'd make the most incredible color display of carotenes and anthocyanins. It seemed quite magical when I was little." She smiles a little, gently, at the memory of this silly notion. "The region around Noventa City isn't bad for that--if we don't have too much of this rain. Clear weather develops more colors in the foliage."

"Makes sense." Fey would likely expect him to finish what was left or hers, if they ever came to eat here. Setting his utensils on his plat e he stacked his napkin on top, no where as neat as the doctor, but a easy way to tell he was done. "It is a rather large amount of food."

Leaning back in he seat he smiled. "I'll have to remember that though. Don't get hurt down in Charnal Glutch, the doctor will be grumpy about having to come and see you in all the ice." His tone suggested he was teasing. "Not that I can blame you, I suppose I'm curious though. if not the winter with all the snow. What's your favortie time of year? What kind of weather tickles your fancy as it were?" Spring was his personal favorite.

"I never can finish the whole plate here," she admits. "Farm hand portions are rather a lot for... well, not a truly sedentary lifestyle, but not that active, either." She folds up her napkin with surgical neatness as she speaks, laying it alongside the tray when it's done. "And it's true, as long as the peace holds, at least. The snow fields down near Charnel Gulch can be pretty when I've got to go down there, but the only ice I want to see most days is floating in a drinking glass."

"Not much on veggies?" Kai asked a amused smile on his lips as he finished clearing his plate. It probably wasnt the case, but he enjoyed teasing people.

"But at least you'll be prepared, in case you ever get a bad winter up here." Which seemed unlikely. "And I suppose it's easier to avoid places like that when you're retired."

"Well, it wasn't precisely by choice," Yara explains wryly. "At least I never got cold wintering here on Noventa. Still have my old uniform parka, you see." Setting her utensils on her tray in a final sort of way, she adds with a rueful chuckle, "If I never again live someplace I need to wear it every day, it may still be too soon."

"That describes it fairly well." Kai replied a warm chuckle rolling from his lips. "Pretty boring for the most part in other words."

This was followed by a shake of his head. "Dont think I could stand a ice planet for that long. Cold and icy, all the pretty ladies dressed in layers, so they only look like one shape." There was a moments pause as he thought it over. "Yeah just not for me."

"It's something, yes," she chuckles. "Dantooine, hm? I knew a boy from Dantooine, a pilot. Still living, as far as I know." Which, for a Rebel pilot--even a transport pilot--was really saying something. "He said it's... a lot of grass. Not too cold." She shakes her head a little. "This was after four months on an ice planet, so he may have overemphasized that bit."

"I dont know about that, but I do brew with several young ladies, and I can be a fast learner. Well, coot for when it comes to dancing." He smiled. "Still you might be a bit older then I said, but ya dont really look or act like it. So, that's something right?"

"True enough, as a boy from Dantooine, I know at least a little about that."

She almost snorts into her water glass. "You were raised properly, I can tell, but round up." Chuckling, she sets the glass down

"Even with the war on most people had lives to live and jobs to do, I suppose. Particularly out here on the Rim, in the places where the Empire's reins were a little looser."

"So not as much as you'd like then." Kai replied flashing a grin, his eyes drifting to his she pushed the veggies around on the plate.

Bringing his drink to his lips he shrugged. "I dunno, I'm still thinking there is a planet out there just full of old doctors " The glass was placed on the table, as he picked up his utensils. "I dont think you've hit that middle stage yet either. You cant be much past twenty four or twenty five." At the very least she didnt seem as old as Jelna.

"I suppose that makes sense, though. The part about the young and the old. Truth be told I never really knew much about the folks in the alliance though."

"I've been known to dance," she says, amused at this turn. "Occasionally. When I've the time." She pushes a few bits of vegetable around on her plate with her utensil without actually picking anything up. "Old doctors have to come from somewhere. Generally from young doctors. After passing through the middle stage you see before you." The corner of her mouth quirks dryly for a moment. "Plenty of us were young, the rest very grizzled indeed." Her face gradually settles into more sober lines. "It was a young being's game, you see, because once you got in it you had to either have nothing or be prepared to lose everything. Not many middle-aged physicians can leave their families and good positions--on comfortable luxury liners, say--to run around the rag ends of the galaxy with a lot of traitors."

"I suppose culture is a bot hard to find out here." HE offered with a soft chuckle, just look where they were eating after all. "I would guess you cut quite the figure in a nice dress, and all that culture likely means you like dancing too?" His eyebrow raised questioningly. "Or have I got that part wrong?"

"Admitting that would of gotten you into all manner of trouble a couple years ago." He agreed with a nod. "But no, you didn't mention it, and I don't think I would of guess. You're a bit too pretty for what I think of when I hear of a war time doctor. When you said big ship, I was thinking more along the lien of a luxury transport." There was a thoughtful pause. "Not that war chem doctor's can't be pretty, I just always imagine them more grizzled?" They were almost always grizzled on Imperial vessels.
