Stand Your Ground [Day 7, Early Evening, Siyulibqicha]

After the townsfolk had the day to prepare they were as ready as they could be; which was good timing, seeing as the lookouts came running to report back. Small carrier vehicles were seen off on the horizon, but their load likely was not cargo. There was some last moments yet before they would arrive, but soon would be the time.

Chiwu held a rifle in her hand, walking around and checking on the other town folk who decided they'd make a stand here today. Word of what happened in Noventa City reached out here but they didn't have time to worry about that yet. First, these mercenaries needed dealing with.

Cal was there, just as he said he'd be, armed and armored up. And hatted. Couldn't go to a dustup like this without his hat.

He scanned the area alertly, watching for trouble, and keeping an eye on his friends.

Kai was also there, well where in the town people had told him to be at the very least. The evenings business would likely begin sometime soon, and he was ready, or at least as ready as he could be.

Quinn didn't want to sit on the sidelines again. She wanted to be a part of something. Something good. So she had come along with Cal, probably overruling some protests in the process. And she didn't want to hide what she was anymore either. Despite, paradoxically, now being the best time for it. But then again, now was maybe also the worst time... as people needed to see more than ever.

Cal had told the crew what was going down. Kor hated people that picked on the little guys, if these mercs wanted a fight they were going to pick on someone their own size.

Yara tags along with her medical kit, sure it will be needed. As the speeder descends toward the tiny town, she discreetly presses a hypospray to her wrist... then disembarks and slings her bag over her shoulder, prepared despite jangling nerves.

While the townsfolk took up positions in windows, behind crates, and barrels Chiwu stepped forward in front of her tavern to get a look at the forces approaching her home. Wesley was nowhere to be seen among them but that didn't seem to deter the woman at the front, holding her rifle. Dust blew in over the town as it was kicked up in massive quantities in the short distance away. When the transports stopped two of the three disembarked. Revealing the contingent of security forces that had come with the mercenary.

Stepping forward amid the dust the Chiss Mercenaries duster billowed in the wind, revealing the armor underneath...

"This is your last chance! Give up Claxxon and maybe, just maybe, you can get out of this with your lives!" he shouted into the space between them. The Chiss had stepped forward, ahead of the majority of the security forces to be close enough to yell. Two men stood behind him, one on either shoulder.

"Hello there!" Cal called from behind his cover. He rose up, eyes squinting, his own duster flapping dramatically behind them.

His hand came up, giving a vague wave. "If you'd like to discuss some sort of terms that may include writing whatever wrongs your employer feels they may have suffered at the hands of your quarry, I'm all for that. Just so long as it also includes you turning around and walking away, and leaving these people, him included, in peace."

He spread his hands. "Otherwise, I suppose you're just gonna have to come over here and ask us one more time." His body tensed, ready to draw or duck behind cover again as appropriate.

Kai and be of the opinion that they were supposed to ambush the mercenaries, being outnumbered and outgunned and all of that. But if Cal wanted a excuse to get himself shot, he wasn't going to argue. Though there were probably better ways to go and see the pretty doctor then as a patient. It did further consolidate the feeling that he should never take dating advice from the older man though.

Kor was hidden out of sight, this was an ambush after all, but he could hear Cal giving his speech. You'd think the man would be a bit more gun shy after getting shot not 2 days ago but that must just be the kind of guy Cal was.

Kor's grip on his ax tightened, he was no use until the needs got in close range, he had passed the minimum necesarry for his shooting requirements but, well, stormtroopers didn't have to be marksmen. So when he heard the fighting close in he would emerge from the building and try to flank them. But waiting was the worst part.

"Fine! Have it your-" a gunshot rung out from beside Cal, where Chiwu stood. Beside the Chiss one of the security forces fell over backward, dead. The woman held her relic of a rifle up against her shoulder and had the iron sights aimed down. With the strong scent of gunpowder clinging to the air.

The Chiss Mercenary ducked down and used the other one for cover as he retreated among his men. Chiwu grabbed Cal's shoulder and directed him with her toward the center of town, beyond the positions where the others lay waiting. They would function as the bait that would drive the majority of the forces into the towns center.

[Some of the forces will be held in "Reserve" as they will be fighting the villagers, occupying them until such a time as progress may be made.]

[CAPTAIN will have ADVERSARY ONE, and CHISS MERCENARY will have ADVERSARY TWO, this upgrades all checks against them per rank of Adversary. CHISS MERCENARY will also have DEFENSE 1 for ranged and Melee.]

All Targets are currently at LONG Range. Chiss Difficulty Pool is modded by Two Upgrades and One Setback. Captain is modded by one upgrade. Minions aren't upgraded in difficulty.

I will likely pull up a map when we get into it further to help us all keep tabs on things. Furthest any PC is from one another is Short.

Well, they were a bit farther off then what he was hoping, but it would have to do. They knew they were here after all. Stepping behind a short wall made just for that purpose Kai took Aim down his own sights. Hoping to thin the numbers a little before people got closer to them.

Under the blaster fire delivered from Kai's position behind a short wall one of the security force members hits the dirt. Being left behind by his fellow the man lay there, dead. There were still many more but the first blood had been drawn by those defending the town.
