The cold, harsh wind does nothing to keep people from attending the day's races. Local favorite, Yasmin Ha'ssan is there, using a standard Podracer. She seems all smiles, as the other drivers make their way to the starting gate. The roar of Podracing engines fills the covered starting area, as the crowds cheer on their favorites, and people begin to make bets or just watch the excitement on the track.

Today's track features the straightaways of the Gulch, as well as a treacherous tight maneuvering course through an icy ravine. The winds add an additional challenge to the course, testing even the hardiest and foolish of pilots equally.

Early in the evening before the races had gotten started a mysterious masked being began milling about the hangars which held the podracers. The mechanized voice went by the name TK and purported to be a veteran of the podraces on Malastare. After spending a bit of time they located a sponsor whose rider seem to have run into a brick wall earlier in the day suspiciously... The sponsor cut a deal with TK for 30% of the winnings and gave the mysterious stranger a slightly souped up pod.

For a newcomer to the track on a pod that they had never piloted before TK did fairly well. TK sped through the turns at great speed and ended up with one of the fastest laps on record on the first lap. The weather interfered on the following two laps, however, as a strong blizzard headwind caused a bit of trouble for TK and slowed her progress on what would have been a near perfect performance.

The hometown favorite is crowned as the winner of the race. However, newcomer TK managed to generate quite a few cheers of their own, finishing out at the bottom of the podium, but still! An exciting start for the veteran from Malastare here on Noventa.
