[D1 - EA] Old Dreams Broken

Old ghosts and dreams still haunted the once prideful and productive factory. Not much was left. Scavengers and other similar people had already torn apart most of the place to get whatever they deemed useful for survival.
Jozk was here for another reason. He was here to remember his life. This place was emotionally attached to him. It was here where he worked for most of his life, it was here where the best and worst memories happened. Here he met his beloved wife, but also he was force to work as a slave for the Empire. Here he defied, with many others, the opression of the Republic, but here he also built machines of war that killed millions upon millions. In essence, it was a place of conflictive memories.
The old engineer walks around the work yards and sections...

The old scene was just as it always has been. Machine's just as rusted as it was the last time you visited here, with nothing changing. The noise, though, that was something you wouldn't have forgotten. It was always loud: the sound of grinding and clanging metal, the test of the blasters, the roar of the engines.
To enter in this place and just hear nothing would be nothing short of eerie.
The factory doors itself are locked up tight, no doubt to prevent further salvage operations. Going inside the building proper would be no simple task.

To see such an proud factory become rusted metal was very disturbing for Jozk. Every time he returned here it caused such painful feelings, the sound of silence instead of the roaring noise of metal machinery moving with utmost efficiency was really heartbreaking.
He moved around, touching some old machinery and panels, trying to make them work, knowing that they would not. He sometimes moved some joysticks that he remembered controled some manufacturing arms that controled the steel plates supply.
Sometimes he activated his neural recorder when he was in a place where he still remembered that he recorded some sort of important event during the production, Like the time he and his team of engineers saw the successful testing of the plasma engines for a Providence-class destroyer. The roaring sound and almost infernal temperature that produced such marvels of space engineering.
All in all, this was a sad image for the old man. He continues to explore the old yards, going deeper and deeper into the factory...

Unfortunately, whatever it was the Sienar people did to these doors was proving quite the difficult challenge. Though it, however, becomes more apparent that as you work, you eventually make some headway, though not enough to complete the task. Eventually, your battery cell runs low and you stop you attempt. Maybe at another time you can try again with the effort you put into as a stepping stool.

Another interested party appeared. Sharn watched the effort from a distance that was getting short as he walked in.

'' Hmm. Oh, well. Maybe it is better to leave whatever is inside undisturbed anyways...'' Jozk said as his fussion cutter run out of energy. Still he noticed that there were some patters in the welding process that the Sienar people used for sealing the main yards. Maybe he could try a second time in the future. Claiming the factory for the people of Noventa once again, and for the Outer Rim could be useful for creating new jobs for the people.
As he stood up, the old man noticed that someone was approaching. He took off his security googles and watched the man as he got close.
A pantoran? Jozk thought as first as he noticed the blue skin from the man. No, a chiss... He corrected himself inside his mind as he looked at man's red eyes.
'' Greetings. '' He simply said as he inspected the chiss.

"Greetings. I suppose it's two parties interested in opening the door now." The Chiss had an aura of self-confidence about him, a smug gait and a dismissive gaze. Without further word, at least for now, he approached the lock box to figure out the way to trigger the regular mechanism.

The regular mechanism has been all but destroyed, the door itself sealed. There was no regular means of entering into the location without effort. Sienar did a number on this door to prevent anyone from entering after they left, leaving the majority of the hardware in tact.
The door itself had plenty of marks, blaster marks, and other attempts to break it down, but even still, it remained unopened.
((To open the door, it requires a Daunting (◆◆◆◆) Mechanics or Skullduggery check, twice upgraded.))

Try as you might, your Superior mechanical abilities are no match for Sienar's sealing capacity, as your hydrospanner eventually sputters out of juice, barely making a dent in the door. Still, at least you have the general knack of it, you think. Maybe another time with the same equipment and you could make more headway.

The old engineer just crossed his arms around his chest. He didn't care about the chiss rather arrogant attitude, not that it was unexpected, chiss are quite arrogant and frankly racists. He watched as he failed the first time and as he succeded on the second try.
'' Interested in loot? '' He asked with a neutral tone.

The door finally opens, one could say with your combined efforts and it is revealed its contents. Inside, the actual area itself is impressive. The machinery were still mostly intact, just like the rumors said. Unlike the outside, it's not so heavily rusted up, just mostly abandoned. In fact, there still lied within several mostly finished TIE fighter heads, some ship blaster parts, and other gear. If one had to guess, Sienar did have plans to return here at some point, though when was anyone's guess.
It was most certainly a treasure trove for any scrapper to get their hands on. Your equipment, though, did not survive the process of the entry, and would require a bit of effort to get back into working order, or you just could simply get some new ones.
((Flipping a Destiny Point for...something. You'll see.))

"Quite the opposite. I want to do the inventory and keep everything in in preparation for restarting repairable parts of the facility." The Chiss replied, finally looking inside. What he saw there made him grin. "Well, well. Feels like the Ring a bit again."

'' I see...'' He followed the chiss behind. Jozk looked around for a computer security panel, he was worried for security reasons. He doubted that Sienar or the imperial fanatics would had left the interior unguarded. '' And how will keep people out? I doubt that Noventians will not rush to loot everything here now that the gates are open.'' He said.

Looking for a security control panel.

"We'll lock them again, and rewrite security protocols. Unless you are here to sabotage my effort." He looked at the older man. "But I surmise you would not be opposed to seeing it restarted if you come to agree with the intent. So before you try to realise your secret immediate urge, whatever it may be, explain yourself." Sharn stood in the man's way, also wary about entering the premises outright out of security reasons.

'' Funny that you act like you OWN this factory, kid.'' The old engineer remarked. '' And i don't think i should explain my reasons to someone i do not know. But i can assure you that i'm interested in restarting this industry for the sake of my people.'' He replied, a bit annoyed by the kid's tone, while continuing his efforts to find a panel.

The security panel isn't something you can immediately find on this floor, but from working here before, Jozk would know that the security room would be on the second floor room surveying the plant floor. It's enclosed and sealed like a blast room, though the door to it does appear to be wide open.

Not waiting for the chiss' reply, Jozk advanced, but still wary about probable defenses. He climbed the stairs towards the second floor knowing that the security room was there, if the chiss wanted to follow him, he didn't mind. He didn't move directly though, first he peeked from a corner the hall that goes to the blast doors and looked if there was any sort of indication of additional or secret security measures that he didn't remember since his time here.
He took out his general purpose scanner to check if he could detect any form of electromagnetic signals. Security droids could be there after all...
