Stormy Dun Yells [EM4]

Sharn watched Noventa from its orbit, the globe in environmental havoc. He found it aesthetic, quite captivating. And felt no regrets for having likely precipitated it. With rare exceptions, people down there gave him little reason to care for them. Almost all those he appreciated were up here with him.

"Void is pleasant today." He remarked casually.

Farkas is not a heartless man, but he is a practical one. The unfortunate people trapped on the surface have to deal with what they are facing, but those fortunate enough to have an out are likely riding out the storms from the safety of local space like the Strange Charm. That's just the way things go. The slicer casually looks through the salvage inventory database he put together and starts making improvements on search algorithms and storage efficiency.

Zygy hummed to herself as she guided the Strange Charm along the debris field. "Where to today, gentleman?"

"We do have options. Business as usual, trying to find out what has been jamming the planet, or paying our Lyran acquaintances a visit." Sharn stretched a little, Sy's humming alleviating a discomfort he had not realised he had had.

"They all sound like good ideas." she nodded.

"Two birds with one stone," Farkas replies. "The Lyran ship likely has more powerful computers and electronic warfare capabilities. May be easier for us to find the source with those resources if they want our help or are willing to help locate. Though they may not wish to do so, since being passive makes detection of their base less likely. A sound defensive option for them."

"So a tea with pirates, and then we'll see where it goes from there?"

"Sounds about right. Though I'd prefer a caf." Farkas nods. "You okay with that Syzygy?"

"Good for me." she nodded. "Let's take a look at what they have."

Sharn leaned back.

"What my morning lacks are tokens of appreciation for how I have brought the Charm back to shape after the encounter. Someone should make me breakfast."

"I'm still testing its maneuvering." she teased. "We'll see about rewards once I'm satisfied."

"Acceptable." He smiled a bit.

"Are you really concerned about that? I was thinking that since we'll be dealing with pirates regularly now, we should upgrade our combat stance. I was going to ask you if you wanted to get started on building a combat droid chassis with me so we can be better prepared." Farkas looked to Sharn with curiosity. "We could start work on the way to their base."

"If you make me breakfast and caf I will lift a finger. I was really disappointed when I found no new fruit. Larger were acceptable." Sharn's normal when he wanted to underscore the importance of his expertise that should be given much more credit than by 'lend me a hand'.

He had known Sharn for a long time. "Okay then. I guess if you trust me to build it by myself. The droid that would be defending your person and could come between you and foolish pirates," Farkas says with exasperation, as he stands and starts moving to the cargo hold. "There's food in the kitchen if you're hungry. I'm going to get started on the chassis."

"Fine. I will stay here with lovely Sy waiting for your desperate calls for assistance and admission it would have been so much more cost-effective to act as my butler for a short time." Sharn folded his hands.

"Nah. I'll just miss any defects. I don't have your keen eyes," Farkas says. "We just won't know until it's too late. But I understand. Sometimes superior species prefer breakfast to making sure they don't die due to someone else's oversight." The balding man chuckles to himself as he finally exits.

"Boys, we'll be at the pirate clubhouse soon." Sy reported. "What's the secret knock?"

It was then, as if by destiny or fate, or even the will of the Corce, that the space hulk appeared, just as a large piecebof debris moved past the ship's cockpit.

An old Venator-class, the hull bent mid-stern, twisted space frame held together by well done, if patch-work, repairs. A pair of Cloakshapes flanked the Strange Charm, signalling that they would be escorted in.

"Good Morning! It's good to see you so soon!" Dean's handsome face appeared in the holo receiver, smiling brightly as he addressed the ship. "Welcome to the Lady of the Night."

"Morning. Do you have anything available for breakfast?" she asked, guiding the Strange Charm to the Lady of the Night.
