"Thank you friend." Kit says as he picks up the meat and strokes the cat's head "I feel it too, I'm afraid that is something for others. Something dark and terrible." He stood, his hand still on the cat's head as he looked out into fields in the same direction. The winds whipping his hair, a slight chill to the air as the storms brew overhead. His eyes far off as he speaks "but it'll be alright, I feel it, I know people are working to fix it."

The Alpha nudges the meat towards him to take before looking out on the fields again. There was a sense of somberness to it. It was smart enough to know what was coming, it could feel that something was wrong, though it could not process the true terror that awaiting this planet. As the Alpha, it was his role to protect those around it he considered part of his pride. This creature had defeated him, and was worthy to be considered it too.

So he needed to feed be ready for whatever it was that was coming.

The hunk of wood in Kor's hands had just begin to take on some sort of shape, still too rough to say definitely what it would become. Kor stashed the block and sheathed the knife as he knelt down to closer to the cat's eye level "Well that didn't take too long at all, you're recovering pretty well." His voice was laced with a bit of pride as well, a small sense of accomplishment shared with the manka over its triumph. Despite himself Kor also felt a bit of happiness at seeing the cat again, he had been fully prepared to never see the animal after this day.

It took about 30 minutes later, but the Alpha surprisingly returned. It was a sight to behold, but it appeared to have something in its mouth. As it moved closer to you, it dropped to your feet a dead Convoree, a sense of pride coming off of the beast of its first kill in a few days.

Small as it was, it was still not something easy to catch.

Kor watched the cat do its thing sniffing around and then finding a scent. He did as he said he would for his part mostly a lot of waiting, as the cat darted off Kor pulled out a knife and whetstone and set to returning the blade's edge to being razor sharp. The big man even hummed as he worked, an old song his father had hummed when he was working on equations or lectures. Kor was often surprised how different he turned out to be from his father, an academic, a professor, more content to spend his evenings with a good book than Kor had ever been. His father had protested the civil war and criticized the empire when it took over, when he had found out Kor had signed up the man had nearly lost it,screaming and shouting which devolved into coughing. Kor missed his father sometimes, in times like this.

satisfied with the sharpness of the knife he pulled out a small wooden block and began to whittle at it a bit, not yet sure what shape the wood would take. He didn't always go in with an idea more so just started shaving chunks off until a shape started forming and then work with that. It was how his father had taught him to do it. Kor would sit there for a few hours working on the wood creation waiting to see if the cat would return.

The cat looked at the hand motions a few times and took a deep breath, feeling the emotions of Kor in his head. His intentions were somewhat clear to him and after a few long stretches, he slowly began to walk off into the plains, sniffing the air for something. The cat creature closed its eyes and took a deep breath, feeling the life around it and what it surrounded it. The Heartbeat from Kor, the creatures of the plains, and others. It was again in its natural habitat and no longer in the city where this feeling swarmed him of life.

After opening his eyes, he began to walk off further into it before picking up a scent of something and immediately going off like a bolt in that direction.

Kor extended a hand out in front of him in a sweeping gesture "You should be fine going out that direction for a few miles, seemed to not be any settlements for a few miles. Should give you a nice amount of hunting ground to work with." he reached down and pet the cat a few times. "You don't want me coming with you, I'm no hunter really. Too loud. But I'll wait here for you if you want to come back. A couple of hours and I'll leave if you haven't come back yet but I'll come back when the sun is high every day if you want to see me or come back and stay at the parsecs. There will always be room for you there."

He scratched the big cat behind the ear, he felt a sort of melancholic happiness, a bitter sweet emotion swelling in his chest. He had never meant to keep the cat like a trophy or a prisoner, but over the past few days he had come to enjoy his hours spent sitting with the animal. He had enjoyed talking to it, even if it couldn't talk back, Kor felt it could understand him in some ways on an instinctual level maybe. Now as he sat knowing there was a chance these would be the last moments with his feline companion he felt happy that the manka would be free again but there was a sense of loss there too.

The big man knelt down more vulnerable in front of the cat than he previously had been his ax and armor in the truck Kor knelt in only his white t-shirt and blue sturdy pants his pale blue eye meeting the big cats as both hands came up to stroke the cats fur, he looked into the eyes for a moment, to him there was a connection there. A string between them, brought together through a mutual respect for the others power, ferocity, and animal spirit. Kor closed his eyes and leaned his forehead against the animal's, his voice was soft "Be free friend, be free but know you are always welcome." he gave the cat one final pet as he opened his eyes and stood. There was a smile on his lips that was just tinged with a hint of sadness "Now go. Hunt. I know after a week of eating dead nerf you have to be craving a fresh kill. I'll wait for a few hours like I said."

The Alpha stretched out of the truck and looked around, lying on the cage for a few moments, staring out. Its body had practically returned to its standard form, and seeing this setting did bring a sense of contentment on its face. After looking around, it slowly steps out of his confinement and stares up at him, curious as to where the direction he was going out here.

The hum of the repulsors was one of the only sounds that could be heard as Kor used a truck he had borrowed from one of the farmers they had helped out this past week. There was a cage secured in the bed of the repulsor truck and in that cage the recovering manka alpha was contained, Kor had promised it he would bring it out today to get out there again and do some hunting.

Kor drove the truck out as far from the nearest homestead as he could go, Kor went around back and dropped the tailgate looking into cage "Well here we are, the same plains where I found you. Not quiet the same spot though, wanted to keep you away from any of the farmsteads. I'm gonna let you out now ok?" he spoke his deep voice firm but also gentle as he unlatched the cage and took a step back.
