"Not as much as we would like, but there's still potential here." she countered. She turned her attention back to the Rangers. "Captain, we appreciate the concerns of the government. We obviously have strong feelings regarding the factory, but that is because we see the potential in it, for ourselves and for Noventa. We came here to find fresh opportunities and build something new for ourselves. The crew of the Strange Charm is highly skilled in many areas that would be ideal for the factory and those orbital stations."

"Setting aside the former, we would like to offer our services on the latter. It would be a good way to begin building a relationship between us. Once you see our work firsthand, I'm sure you'll see the value of that relationship. Hopefully, it will lead to further collaboration and, perhaps, further consideration, if the situation changes with the factory."

Sharn's eyes narrowed and his voice cooled to the levels of Csillan winter during the glacial age.

"I completely understand your position. Your position has consequences. You will face them soon enough. Let those outcomes be more acceptable to you than my proposal has been, though I won't hold my breath over it. Good luck dealing with that Imperator."

He grabbed the bag and rose.

"Let's go, Miss Anion. We are not appreciated here."

"Look, legal issues aside, we have our job to do. Without official word from Sienar, or whatever holding company they have become, we've yet to receive any updates on it." The twi'lek spoke, leaning forwards on the desk. "Our planetary government is supporting the lockdown until things are sorted out and we can make a determination then. Noventa is not prepared to make an enemy of a powerful government contractor." Her hands folded easily on the desk, watching Sharn closely.

"And despite how clever you think you are, even getting past the door? The intrusion systems are still online. You'd need an army to get through that."

The twi'leks lips pursed. "Do we have an understanding? The place is off limits."

Sharn gave a passing look to the documents.

"Sienar-Jaemus Fleet Systems, ever since the Concordance. They may be using old holo-stationery for their communications, but there's a legal discontinuity and their assertions are by far not ironclad. For once, SJAS may disagree that it is a SJFS asset. If they send stern letters rather than qualified personnel to secure the claims, that's a message in itself. If the policy of this government is to side with them by acknowledging their challengeable claims, then you are losing out on a once in a millenium opportunity to assert control over planetary industry from a transgalactic corporation." Sharn scoffed, leaning back.

"If opening the unopenable was not enough for you to make the right calls, here's another proof of my skills." He pushed his bag toward them. "The transmitter recovered from the Viper probe without the sender realising that it's been tampered with. One of the remaining Imperators which had sent it may call you in good faith via this. How do I know it's an Imperator? Because I actually put together the data from thrashed capsule consoles, another task impossible for anyone but my team. You can project aura of 'we have it handled' professionalism here like good bureaucrats do but your technical aptitude as the government is sorely lacking and you're not prepared for what's coming. The factory ran by me can prepare you much better."

He rose from his chair, then sat again.

"If you want things fixed on the orbit we'll fix them. I and my crew are indispensable and the sooner you realise it the sooner things will start working around here."

((Just ignore the part about her being grumpy about civilians then; I'll edit it out in a bit and there's not any long term effects to the conversation on her mood with you going forward. In the future, just make sure to make a note if it needs to be added to the roll still.))

"We could look into that." she nodded. "It would certainly benefit everyone. Could we get contact information for someone a SFS? So that we could inquire with them directly about the factory?"

Before the Twi'lek could answer, Madrae spoke as he scanned the data downloaded from the anklet, "Well, the single best thing anyone could do would be to check in on the HoloNet, right? Figure out why the damned off world connection's so bad, right?"

The Twi'lek narrowed her eyes slightly at her underling, "Mouth shut, soldier."

She glared at the other two, "He's not wrong though. While I don't appreciate civilians sticking their nose into our business, I have to admit the best bet would be to get some work done on the orbital stations - HoloNet transmission stations, long range detection satelites, anti-orbital weapons platforms, that sort of thing. They mostly work but we can't afford the man power to double check their status on such short notice."

"If troops have landed, they were deployed from somewhere." Syzygy frowned. "If there is a greater threat out there, do you have the resources repel it? Is there anything we could assist with? This business with SFS aside, we do have an interest in a peaceful Noventa. What can we do?"

She offered an earnest smile.

"I'm not sure where your database got its information form, Mr. Sharn," the Twi'lek said abruptly, "but Sienar Fleet Systems is still an active company seeking to reclaim and secure assets from parties looking to take advantage of the chaos caused by the final collapse of the Empire." She slid a datapad across the table, "You'll find there an authenticated set of documents from SFS headquarters dated as of seventeen standard days ago requesting that all of their assets be secured against potential looting until corporate teams be landed to take over. Governor Deltiss has already signed off on the order to secure the facility in exchange for recovering costs incurred by Noventan interests."

"In short, Mr. Sharn," the Twi'lek said, "the Commander's put down orders that the only two ways anyone is setting foot in that factory is by showing some proof they're from Sienar itself or with an army at their back."

The Zabrak snorted as he uploaded data from the anklet.

The Twi'lek continued, "As to the supposed and currently unconfirmed rogue elements of the Empire on Noventan soil, we currently have Rangers deployed tracking down the landing site and any agents that might have been deployed to the surface. But you'd have to be the first to admit it seems rather suspicious that you're caught poking around the facility on the same day the Empire allegedly lands troops on Noventa."

"Those are ridiculous charges, even those already levelled against me. I have not entered the facility, and therefore I could not trespass. Even if I had, the charges remained insubstantial. Sienar restructured and did not claim this asset, so has lost the legal claim. You should have updated your databases, but apparently your net is on the fritz as you have kindly put it. And should have sent your personnel on a commercial law course. Anyway, I could not have trespassed over what is no longer private property. I was there to assert ownership and forestall profiteers and looters. I have demonstrated my right to it by proving that I can open it, something that old man was unable to do with his cutter. Now that the factory can be restarted, I can prove that I can operate it and bring the unfinished craft to completion and to use for your planetary defenses. Which you will need, and soon. Because funny you mention that, but there's no longer any Empire anymore either, even if its rogue elements have targeted your planet." Sharn explained.

The Twi'lek made a non-committal noise, "We'll see. As it stands, you have formal charges of trespassing on private property and breaking and entering pending. With other information brought to light today, Commander Baliss had half a mind to lock you up and add some attempted espionage and treason charges as well - but of course, Madrae can't find anything in Noventan files to positively tie you to the Empire. And, conveniently, the connection to the off-world 'Net seems to be on the fritz lately."

Syzygy cleared her throat. "We are eager to establish a friendly relationship with local authorities. We feel there's much we may be able to assist one another with."

"This is Miss Anion, my assistant." Sharn entered into his CEO mode known from the life he once had lived, and coloured his projected superiority with businesslike mannerisms and demeanour. "I count on this not being a waste of time and we can soon get to the key issues at stake here. I might disclose things you are blissfully unaware about despite it being in your best interest to know them."

The angle of the sun has changed and the windows showing the city now show it bathed in shadow as the sun has now shifted to the far side of the city. The office of the Sector Rangers, much like earlier in the day, is nearly empty - except this time a pair of humanoids are at the front desk, one a young Zabrak leaning back in his chair and the other an orange-skinned Twi'lek of indeterminate age, watching a holorecording.

The Twi'lek shakes her head, "I don't get it. So it's a holodrama about..."

"Nothing," the Zabrak says quickly. "That's the beauty of it!"

The Twi'lek raises a hand to silence the Zabrak as she notices the pair enter. She rises her full height, tall for a Twi'lek, and grabs a datapad that had been on the desk. "Let me guess," she asks with a glance down to the data, "Sharn? Commander Baliss had wanted to deal with this personally but he's currently indisposed doing some field work. I'm Captain Me - " she says it like asking for permission - " and this," she gestures to the Zabrak, "is Madrae. If you take a seat, he'll get into taking a look at the tracker anklet while you answer a few questions."

He smirked, checked if she looked professional, concluded that her bun was giving the right vibe, and removed a speckle of dust from her shoulder before proceeding into the building.

"I want to leverage the imminent threat to the planet to secure a contract from this unimpressive government to operate the factory. That's the gist of it. The rest is noise and petty humans making unnecessary problems." He quipped, folding hands on his chest. "Shall we?" He headed toward the building, expecting her to follow.

"Last, I am about to report for their ridiculous investigation, and get rid of this." He rubbed the bracelet, indignant. "Before, we will try to draw in some property management authority and negotiate takeover. At first, we are going to speak with some politician claiming responsibility for this planet and convince him giving us the factory is the best idea. Or everything the other way around if that pure excuse of law enforcement butts in too early." He fumed.

She listened carefully, nodding at certain points.

"How should this be approached?"
