Seeing as it seemed to be that things wee indeed wrapping up, Kai walked over and nudging the DLt-19 out of the death troopers hands, he picked it up and offered it to Cal. "Sorry to interrupt, but you should take this with you, Cal. You're a pretty fine shot with those pistols, but I've noticed they don't always have the range you're wanting. You should carry a rifle of some sort as well."

Smiling, Cal shook his head. "If you're not asking, that's just fine by me. We'll be helping out anyway. Me, and Doc, and a lot more besides. I didn't sit out the Rebellion, and I'm sure as hell not gonna sit it out when my home's in danger."

He looked over at Yara, still too far away to hear. "Maybe just knock next time. All I ask in return."

"Next step." Leo stood taller, looking to Cal, and then to the others gathered. He pushed aside the thought of pain and struggle that seemed to be read on his brow. "I'll get some Militia forces to come in, S-N-R, assess who needs help. It won't be much, because after this, we need to meet them before they try to bring out any reprisals." The aged Clone looked severe, pondering what was about to happen. "And we hope that whatever back up the Ambassador was able to call get to us in time. Even a Gladiator can rain down enough firepower to ruin plenty of lives, if not a full Base Delta Zero." The memory of what happened during the Clone Wars seemed to cross his mind, and he turned silent.

"Ya'll are free to help, if you want, but you've already done a lot for the people here. Can't really ask much more of folk."

Clementine responds quickly when told in an authoritative voice to do a simple task, and so was right behind Yara as she turned to call the rescue off. Filled with some droid equivalent of adrenaline -- stymied attempt to fulfill an optimal function, perhaps -- he tags along after her offering assistance moving the triage subjects around. He probably doesn't come very close to acceptable patient carry techniques, but it's probably good enough for people who are fine other than being stunned and encased in impact-resistant armor. And he can move several at once.

For his part Kai was a bit lost on what to do next. Cal was talking to the commander, Yaara had ran off to do other things... Stare at dead bodies maybe, and Kor seemed a bit moody. So the bounty hunter stepped off to the side, keeping his eyes open to the surroundings. Somebody should keep an eye out for anything dangerous after all.

Ender wrote:"Why get rid of something that worked, even if scaled back." Leo crouched down, observing the Death Trooper for a bit, before shaking his head. "Instead of a hero, you create highly specialized forces depending on your needs." He winced at the sound of the crashes, before looking up to the slowly rising sun.

"Maybe with today, the war might finally end." There wasn't much hope in his voice.

Yara, reaching the crash site, it doesn't look good at all. The cockpit was a mangled mess, smoke and flanes billowing from the engine and shattered transparisteel. Getting closer, it is apparent no one could have survived a crash like that.

Cal watched, his expression first concerned, then grim as he watched Yara go and then return.

He turned sharply to Leo. "This was a big step, here today. And the air forces brought down one of their Raiders. That makes a big difference to how tight their grip on the planet is. We might not be done yet, but it seem like things are goin' our way."

He cleared his throat. "Uh... the big robot did have a good question though. What's the next step?"

"Damn!" Yara slams her fist against the speeder's side panel, residual adrenaline lending the blow a bit more force than was probably wise--she hisses between her teeth and pulls her hand back, shaking it, as her scorched glove gives off a faint burned-wool smell.

Turning back, she shakes her head in an exaggerated 'no good' gesture for the benefit of any of the others who might be looking this way, then comes back toward the group at a slower pace; there's still some more triage to do.

((Yara will check the stunned NPCs squads in case any of them are in imminent danger of bleeding out or anything. Presumably no mechanics to it, just doing the obvious medic things.))

'What's next' is clear to at least one member of the party. "Clem. Help me check that speeder for survivors." Yara tugs her scarf over her mouth and nose against the smoke and sets off at a brisk trot toward the crashed T-16. Odds aren't excellent, but if the pilot had their restraints fastened and was wearing a regulation flameproof flightsuit, there's a chance... And at least you couldn't ask for a better crash site rescue partner than an enormous, terrifyingly strong droid.

Clementine stares directly at the corvette the whole way down, the thick dark transparisteel covering his photoreceptor proof against the glare, heat, and grit. He doesn’t speak again until it slams in to the mountain, the entire superstructure bending and fissuring under the violence of its own mass coming to a sudden halt.

“Well, now they do not have as much of a fleet to look after.” He at last turns to Yara and the others. “Are we done here? What is next?” He probably doesn’t mean them that way, but the questions seem as much philosophical as practical.

Sometimes, there was a strange sort of tranquility after a battle. This seemed to not be one of those times. Cal instinctively flinched as the T-16 struck a nearby building, a brief flicker of regret going through him at the loss of an ally. And then, not long after, a surge of elation as he watched the Raider begin to fall. A brief wondering at these feelings, a sense freedom, but a thrill at watching an enemy die. Cal's face showed none of these things, remaining impassive.

He grunted acknowledgement, nodding to Leo at the clap on his back. "Thanks. Been shooting pretty much my whole life." He frowned down at the lifeless face of the woman a moment before turning back to Leo. "This is, what, a new clone program? I didn't know that was still happening."

The brief respite was broken as a T-16, large stabilizer fin sheared off, span out of control and crashed into the side of one of the mining buildings. Fire and smoke plumed from the wreckage, as the sounds of blaster fire and rocket salvos echoed above. Then, the sound of durasteel snapping, and the whine and groan of the stern of the Raider breaking and splitting, critical hits piling on from directed LAAT/i fire. The thing began to lilt to the side, before lights flickered about it. The corvette seemed to fall so slowly at first, before it came crashing down, slamming into the side of the nearby Volcano, the sound echoing through the town.

Checking the Deathtrooper, it was easy to tell she was indeed dead, her face identical to the one that self destructed a few days prior. Leo came up behind Cal, clapping him on the back. "Nice shooting there. Make the Kaminoan's flash programming proud, if I say so myself." There was a sneer to his words, as he looked down to the Death Trooper. "Even when they moved on to conscripts, I heard word what they did to some of my brothers for that program. And then they got in new blood, too. Never thought I'd see one in person."

Yara ducks free of her makeshift cover, brushing dirty snow off her knees. "Is that all of them?" She doesn't holster her pistol yet, closing the distance to Cal, Kor, Clem, and the fallen Stormtroopers warily. "Anyone hurt?"

She pats the big droid on his bulky elbow. "They need the mines. They have a fleet, but no home port for repair and resupply, I'd guess."

((Unless your name is Clem, I can do the healz and possibly save you a stimpack...))

Clementine tilts his chassis upwards, fixing his photoreceptor at the corvette, still trying to hold its position. He seems to have already forgotten the wreckage, literal and human, around him, including the prisoners and the maybe-corpse at his feet. "Whatever they came for they seem to want it pretty bad," he says. "I can-not see the per-cen-tage in it."

"I'm fine." Kai replied as he lowered his blaster, though he was still vigilant to his surroundings. This wasnt exactly the place to let your guard down after all.

Kor snarled at the troopers his ax raised, ready to deliver another killing blow or two. His blood pounded in his ears, the adrenaline coursing through his veins, the same adrenaline that pushed him to new heights in battle also made it hard to turn off once the battle was over. There was a moment in time, a pregnant pause lingered in the air the ax held in a striking position for a moment. Then in came down its razor edge whistling through the air and a sickening crack was heard as it buried itself deep into a rock beside the trooper in front of Kor.

"hold out your arms." he growled, his breath still a bit heavy as he released the ax handle and pulled out a pair of binders, he looked to the other trooper "you stand next to him and hold your arms out too." assuming they obeyed Kor used the binders to lock the two troopers together one's right arm bound to the left arm of his squadmate "No funny business." he said finally calmed down a bit.

Kor turned to Leo "prisoners are secured." he placed a large hand on one of the trooper's shoulders and pulled him to stand in front of Kor "we're gonna have a chat later." the big man said knowing they would need all the info they could get for whatever battle was looming.

Holstering both his pistols in a smooth motion, Cal rose to his feet.

"Everyone okay?" He called, his eyes narrowing as he surveyed the battlefield. He breathed a sigh of relief as he saw that everyone was still in one piece.

He approached the downed Death Trooper cautiously, ready for either new attackers, or a desperate move by her.

The twin blasts caught the Deathtrooper quickly, cracking her helmet open as she fell back. Blood matted into her blue hair. The two remaining troopers facing off against Kor immediately dropped their knives and blasters, heeding the words of Leo.

"We surrender!"

With his cover first disintegrating, and then Clem moving on anyway, Cal felt that it would be a good idea not to be where he was just standing anymore. He ducked down, then dodged and weaved forward, moving like a huttball player advancing on the goal.

The explosions overhead were a good signal to Cal that he was close enough. He rose from behind the cover he'd found, smoothly leveling his guns at the death trooper and firing as rapidly as he could.

If the Sergeant were not wearing a visor, one might actually see fear in his eyes as the massive load lifter droid come upon him as an unstoppable wall of durasteel and determinarion.

That look wouldn't last very long as the massive fists of the droid came pummeling down, cracking plastoid armor beneath it as the Sergeant dropped to the ground. He did not move.
-----
Leo held himself steady, his blaster rifle leveled at the Death Trooper, the former ARC Trooper watching the bastardized version of the program that created him continue her hateful assault.

"You're outgunned! You've already lost so much! Just surrender!" He called out, as the LAAT/i overhead swooped past, the whine of its engines deafening, before unloading a salvo of rockets into the Raider, explosions rocking the small Corvette from a critical hit.

Leo Coercion on Deathtrooper to Surrender (Willpower 3, Coercion 4. Vs. Willpower 3, Discipline 3, Ability to Uograde Incoming Coercion checks twice): 3eP+1eA+4eC 3 successes, 3 threat
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

His commands carry with them the weight of his conviction, though fire burning throughout the battlefield weaken his argument slightly, showing the back and forth of the pitched battle. (While the Deathtrooper is Coerced, the threat will be used more narratively).
